In 1979, Mac Davis turned to acting, making his feature film debut with Nick Nolte in “North Dallas Forty”. Casablanca Records signed Mac away from Columbia. This label had been a player in the world of disco and with Kiss, and now they opened up a country branch. In 1980, Mac hosted an episode of “The Muppets Show” and contributed this classic.
