I grew up in the 50s/60s on LI, a few miles east of Manhattan, when Willie, Mickey and the Duke patrolled their respective center fields.
Every year it was Moose, Scooter, Yogi, Whitey and the M&M boys who won the pennant and brought the World Series back to where it belonged - the House that Ruth built.
It was a great time to be a kid.
