That's NOT a tiger shrimp; it's a big white shrimp, which is one of the Gulf natives.
BTW, the article makes it sound as if only tiger shrimp get really big; that's not true. As you can see from the photo in the previous post, all shrimp can get big if they live long enough.
About 20 years back, we were fishing early one morning out in the Gulf off Freeport, when some shrimp boats anchored near us for the day. They offered us some monstrous pink shrimp where the TAILS were 10” long and about 3” in diameter!!
