Why should FR not also take their stand and for that matter "Strengthen Their Position?"

Because it is divisive and exclusionary, and I struggle to understand how that position helps the country, or Free Republic.

I understand Jim's views. I also understand that FR belongs to Jim, and it is up to him where he takes it.

I would find it helpful to have some insight into the plan though, because I just don't understand it. What outcome does FR want for the election, and what outcome for the website? Right now, it seems that if you want to stay as a Freeper you are required to allow yourself to be marginalized, because we refuse to support the election. From where I sit, this is the absolute wrong time to allow ourselves to be marginalized. The only way we get a seat at the table is to be on the team.

Deek they hate us. We do not have a seat at the table today. We will not have a seat at the table at the convention... unless war on the floor breaks out. The only way that we can make ourselves a seat at the table is if we cause enough problems and are loud enough to inflict enough pain on the gop/e that they will finally take us as a serious and indispensable part of the gop. Right now they despise us... they call us names and make fun of our movements (TEA Party). The recent gop/e meeting that took place is replete with evidence to prove what I say is true. Rush Limbaugh has said that he has personally been told by gop leaders that they despise us... that they are embarrassed by us... that they do not want us at their events or conventions... that their “wives are embarrassed to be seen with them”. They hate us for being moral and trying to obey GOD’s laws... they hate us because “we hold certain truths to be self evident”... their truth is in power and money.

The only way to win is to emulate what the left has done... they have made themselves so loud and formed things like the green party and backed people like ralph nader and lost some elections... but today... they stand on the cusp of instituting Stalin's dream. The gop is not our party... they do not represent us... they do not like us... but they must have our votes and our money... we demand a seat at the table... we have been denied and lied to long enough. Goldwater and Reagan forced us a place at the table... but then our chair was given to moderates and independents and pro abortionists and gay activists and yes... mexican invaders.

this is the absolute wrong time to allow ourselves to be marginalized. The only way we get a seat at the table is to be on the team.

You've answered your own questions.....It Is Jim's table...and it is his "Party" we as 'conservatives' are invited to..... That does not give others a right to bash the host or complain about his decisions as we know he is thoughtful enough to ask our "opinions". Nor should Freepers bash those he relys on to make FR work.

Though you've said you understand Jim's position I can't agree that you do, otherwise you would not be in the position you have found yourself of questioning the pupose of FR.

As to being "on the team"....if you mean the Gop...they're no longer my team...they took the ball and ran it for the opposing team, and continue to do so. It's really that simple.

Further,... when we keep electing the "lessor of two evils" we continue to keep marching more and more into perpetual debt.. and erosion of our rights... until this country looks more like Socialist Europe than the USA.....Does that sound like a working solution?...Did not our founders escape that very thing to form our nation independant and free?.... They refused to "Consent"...

.....When the Founding Fathers spoke of government... 'By Consent' of the governed,.... they knew exactly what government was like when it was Not conducted 'by consent' of the governed...... The latter was the government the colonists were subjected to:

......innumerable measures, including taxes, were passed by the British Parliament,.... and the colonists had no input,.... no representatives to express their dissent,..... and no opportunity to do anything except obey the laws imposed upon them.

"Consent Of The Governed"... was a concept applied to the nation as a whole, to the people in their plurality..... It is the nation that is the source of authority acting through the government, and it is the nation's 'Consent' that makes government legitimate.

How many times do we continue to "Consent" to the very thing we oppose? ...When is enough enough?...Just exactly when will this nations people stop the madness in an election system rigged years before we are permitted a vote which counts for nothing at all?

Half the nations states were purposely excluded, and thousands of voters in this Primary...again!... The same will occur in the General. I will not "Consent" any longer to this corruption .....our vote is our Consent... and that has 'value' for some more than others.
