“RN in healthcare management for Down Syndrome adults here.
The photo posted and sentiment implied is disgusting.”
I guess Down’s Syndrome has facial features that make it recognizable. Is that what you are saying?
Yes, it does. The features of Downs are easily identified. It is identified visually right after birth.
Look it up if you do not believe us.
I find it interesting that people get zotted for saying ABO, but nothing happens to people who post hateful pictures.
You don’t know that and homeschool?
Actually, yes. Don’t take my word for it though, I’ll refer you to the National Association for Down Syndrome:
“Down syndrome is usually identified at birth or shortly thereafter. Initially the diagnosis is based on physical characteristics that are commonly seen in babies with Down syndrome. These include low muscle tone, a single crease across the palm of the hand, a slightly flattened facial profile and an upward slant to the eyes. The diagnosis must be confirmed by a chromosome study (karyotype).”
