Hadn’t Palin already declared she wasn’t running before Perry came in?
I may be wrong but the two events were very close together. I doubt it had much to do with her decision.
No. Perry announced for President on August 13th. Palin made it official she was not running on Oct 5th. The wave of hate and vitriol directed at Perry was especially bad between those 2 dates (which encompassed the 4 September debates).
Not positive about which came first. I just remember she was not happy that he reneged on his statement that he wasn’t going to run. Gotta wait on the book to find out the rest of the story.
