A rally expected to draw prominent civil rights leaders is set to take place at a Los Angeles church on Thursday to mark the two-month anniversary of Trayvon Martin's death.
The rally starting at 5:30 p.m. at the West Los Angeles Church in Christ at 3045 Crenshaw Boulevard will be attended by the Martin family, NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous, the Rev. Al Sharpton, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Bishop Charles Blake, who preaches at the church.
Several celebrities are expected, including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Kahn, David Banner, Paul Rodriguez, radio host Big Boy and Magic Johnson.

The rally comes as news broke that the man believed responsible for Martins death, George Zimmerman, has taken down a website devoted to helping raise money for his legal defense, a spokesman for his lawyer said Wednesday.
The website www.therealgeorgezimmerman.com was no longer functioning as of Tuesday, said James Woods, a spokesman for Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara.
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of the 17-year-old Martin in February. He has pleaded not guilty and is claiming self-defense.
O'Mara has hinted that he will ask Zimmerman to be declared indigent, which would allow taxpayers to pay for his legal bills.
Any income from the website would make that process more difficult. The website was created almost two weeks ago by Zimmerman's family to thank his supporters and to receive donations from anyone who wanted to help with his legal defense.

They have Zimmerman tried, convicted and hanged already.
We don't need no stinkin' evidence.
The racist-in-chief.
Haven’t heard these a&&h&&&&& put on concerts for the dozens of other black children who have been killed by other black thugs.
It’s about gun control. That is all.
I’ve been telling people for years to avoid falling for the Smiling Faced Earvin Johnson.
What a fraud.
What a fraud.
Rush says that Oprahs career has never recovered from the way she latched onto Obama because he was black, thus suddenly making white women fans feel excluded. Sounds like Johnson is courting the same fate.
The temptation just seems to be overwhelming for blacks to do this, while anyone else can see that the prosecution doesnt have a way to disprove Zimmermans defense beyond a reasonable doubt; the preponderance of the evidence seems to go the other way. Pending trial - but AFAIK the prosecution is supposed to have given the defense all its evidence by now, and at the bail hearing they said they had nothing else.
Think of the elaborate reenactments of the JFK assassination. It would be childs play to make a reenactment of the uncontradicted statement of Zimmerman as to where he was and what he was doing. If it is consistent with all other information from witnesses, it seems like Zimmerman would be exonerated. But inciting a race riot makes so much more interesting copy . . . .

Indeed, when it comes to racial issues one can readily see the “true colors” of Powell, Cosby, Johnson, et al
What a despicable farce
