The one silver lining I see is that they will be addressing conflict resolution. Perhaps they realize (if they didn’t before) that their son escalated the incident by confronting Zimmerman and then jumping him.
I would like to see them focus on that aspect, in the same way that Beth Holloway started advocating for students and parents taking more precautions in choosing spring break vacation spots.

“Caring about your appearance means healthy self-esteem.”
“Stay in school, it is cool.”
if they wanted that they would have accepted Zs public apology or at least not howled with outrage that they found it phoney
