Lowest turnout for a Presidential Preference Primary since the current system was established.
Voter turnout for the Republican Presidential Preference Primary was the lowest since the current system was established in 1980, according to Secretary of the State Denise Merrill.
Figures reported to Merrill's office show just 14.4 percent of eligible Republicans turned out for the Primary Tuesday.

And we all know about the Kerry presidency.
I’ll never understand Republicans. If ya don’t want Romney, then VOTE FOR SOMEONE ELSE! Don’t stay home! This is a PRIMARY! It’s like herd mentality with these primary voters. You vote for who you WANT, not who the polls and media say is ahead!
As you saw here in Michigan, voting for our preferred choice didn’t make much difference. They couldn’t even accept a tie and changed the delegate allocation rules after the primary.
Its like dealing with democrats.
If only Palin had decided to run. It would be Reagan vs Carter all over again and the GOP landslide would have been even bigger.
You can't win a presidential election without supporters.
This guy is probably the biggest loser in the last 75 years!
I voted in New York (Brooklyn) after 6 pm. I was voter number 5 for my district.
Yes it was a low turnout. So now the CT officials are complaining that it costs too much to do a primary. Remember we are super liberal here. Does that surprise anyone?
We here in FreeRepublic are in constant and continual communication with each other, argueing, sharing and disecting the news and politics and people.
We really try to analyze and make decisions that are mature and wize.
We are also a minority.
I've had to admit, since Pennsylvania's primary yesterday, that by being IN TOUCH with data, we are OUT OF TOUCH (in some matters) with a frighteningly larger percentage of the population than what we want to admit to.
That's my conclusion.
We can't seem to save good people from being (figuratively) killed ... Palin, Cain even Santorum.
I don't know what America's fate is, but 2 Chronicles 7:14 comes to mind more and more these "last days"

Radical leftist NY carpetbaggers invaded CT and destroyed historic towns like Mystic
They say they love where they want to move to -
Then they turn it into the garbage they came from

Rove, FOX and the GOP-e are out of their fricken' gourds.
Well, guess their job number one is done. Kill the tea party.
Then enjoy the next 4 years with Obama; in fact, enjoy the demise of the country.
We have found out again that the political IQ of our little Repubican primary voters is just a couple of points above their Democrat cousins, but they are good at earning money!
Then we need to get behind Romney. He was number 3 on my preferred list but when compared to obama, Romney moves up to the number 1 spot. Is he my ideal? NO...but he is so much better than obama. If for no other reason, obama cannot have the opportunity to nominate more liberal justices to the supreme court. I have never voted for a candidate I loved but I always vote and I vote for the least offensive. And in November 2012, that will be Romney.
You are so right about Mystic.
I checked your homepage, are those your cars- wow!
You and me both Jim. I just can’t understand why the GOP rejects being a permanent majority party. But they can’t stop the Tea Party long term. We’ll be tea partying for a long time.
We have learned some valuable lessons though:
We conservatives single-handedly devastated the GOP in 2006 by staying home.
In 2010, the GOP was largely powerless to stop conservatism.
In 2014, I don’t see any reasons why we can’t roll them. And 2018, and beyond. We can own the GOP in every off-presidential year election and there’s not a thing they can do to stop it.
The party pros have no jobs when this guy takes the party under.
If you want a future in America you have to demand Romney's removal.
Are you aware of the fact that it is against FR rules to change the title of an Article. I could not believe the
“(Nobody wants Romney)” part of the title. So, I went to the actual article and sure enough, it DID NOT say that. So, apparently you added it. I wish you folks wouldn’t do stupid stuff like that. I mean, I thought: “NBC might be scum but they can’t be that stupid to say ‘Nobody wants Romney’. Apparently somebody does. He’s going to be the GOP nominee.”
PLEASE DON’T MISLEAD FREEPERS BY CHANGING TITLES OF ARTICLES!!!
