As the potential collapse of the United States Postal Service looms on the horizon, one Senate Democrat has proposed an unusual plan to solve the crisis.
Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) looks to harvest the electricity that windmill farms produce in order to power a new fleet of battery-operated postal delivery vehicles, replacing the previous '25 to 30 years old' 'dilapidated' vehicles.

Registered mail and certified mail are different. BS story.
I’m actually embarrassed for this guy. The thing that’s going to save everyone is unicorn dander. What makes it so special is it’s both a fuel source AND legal tender. I feel bad letting the cat out of the bag a little early but the fact is it’s a food source too. It’s tastier and is packed with more vitamins and minerals than dog.
When you think magicially, magic things happen!
Exactly right. In a way I almost hope they try this stupid idea. I will laugh my ass off as I drive by the stranded electric postal vehicles on the backroads of upstate NY on a 20 below zero winter morning. There is no way in hell a battery vehicle will work in the dead of winter on long country ice-covered roads, much less provide heat to the driver.
Idiotic idea.
I have an uncle who is a mail carrier and two other friends who deliver also. They all use their own vehicles. I suspect it’s the Cities that have fleets.
Huh? My post office down the street can't even buy new light bulbs for their office where half the lights are out.
Carper is the weakest US Senator. Just see how many news stories he’s been involved in over the last year.
These Commurats are on drugs. No doubt in my military mind.
OOoOhhhhh! I thought the genius senator was going to suggest AIR mail with wind tunnels, but the USPS just cut some of those services. ;)
Had a check sent to me on April 12th from Jacksonville, FL coming to East Tennessee. I’m still waiting for it to arrive.
Boondoggling all taxpayers with one stone.
“The check is in the mail....”
The faster the car goes, the more wind, right?
The more wind, the more electricity, right?
The more electricity, the faster the car goes !
It's genius, I tellya, pure genius.
Both Wind Mills AND that guy saying Guam would tip over are both Knee Slappers.
I have laughed until tears rolled down my face on Dem Hank Johnson very sincerely telling that military brass that Guam would tip over if we put more troops there. The man answered “we don’t anticipate that”...... BWAAAA
Does this scream of stupidity or what? It’s snows where we live - yeah - go ahead and put an electric car with 12” tires on the road. Try it. I dare ya.
Got a bafflingly naive Facebook post from an ultralib “friend” that reminded me of this.
“All of these people crying about how expensive and impossible all of the ‘green technology is going to come about...hell,why not get the dudes in prison to help along w/the project? Win/win situation for everyone involved, including educating the criminals to instigate a new way of living using these things that they are building...and, who know...if/when they actually get out of jail, perhaps they would have this brand new, very valuable and in demand skill that would finally help them build a decent lifestyle/world view for them, finally....?”
Normally this girl, who has hundreds of “friends” gets a dozen or so “huzzahs!” and likes whenever she posts something brilliant, but this one landed with a splat, not surprisingly.
The combined IQ of the entire Democrat Party would still fall into the category “too small to measure”.
Another clear example that intelligence is not a requirement in politics.
Good job, Delaware... you keep rolling out the winners, don’t you?
How about... we pay Senators ONLY through proceeds from nuclear power production? Imagine how many reactors we’d see popping up all over the country...
Isn't she precious... ya just want to pat her on the head and give a pained by patient smile... my response would be:
"Hell, how ya gonna get that past all those, y'know, like UNIONS who, like, wanna have, y'know, a piece of the, like, action?"
