Late response, I know. Was working.

I consider FR to be a porch. Brought up very rural, and gethering on someones porch of an evening and talking about the news and politics of the day was totally normal.
It rotated. We’d meet up on a friend’s porch, well he was Catholic, so some topics were out of bounds. Sitting on our porch, any anti semitism was out of bounds in deference to Dad.
Go next door and any racist crap was totally out of bounds.
