As much as I detest President Zero, and as much as I want to see him depart permanently from the American political stage, I think exit82 does a disservice to the conservative cause by attempting to equate the Big Ø with Hitler.

Hitler's SA and SS thugs were harassing, beating and sometimes killing Jews even before Hitler officially took office. Once he became Chancellor, the pace of these atrocities increased tenfold or more. And by the third year of his reign -- just where we are now with Øbama -- it was increasingly apparent to informed observers that Hitler not only was edging Europe into another world war, but that he also had even worse plans in store for the Jews. Nothing that Øbama has ever said or done comes remotely close, and I fear moreover that equating BHO with AH tends to trivialize the suffering of Hitler's victims.

The above having been said, I believe Larry S. has made an apt and very astute observation about the failure of the anti-Nazis to unite in 1932. The analogy is a good one, and I share the apparent view that America well might face long-term serious and irreparable damage if Øbama's opponents fail sufficiently to unite for the coming campaign.

I agree with much you say-—BO is not yet AH. But I was trying to make a point about ho sometimes elections aren’t at all about voting “ for” anyone, but about stopping an evil before it can grow worse.
