Don’t be surprised. He isn’t well-liked by the Marines I know. He was on base here last week, and guys were scrambling to find ways to avoid meeting him. This is the first Commandant in my husband’s 17 years in the Corps that I have seen Marines so actively go out of their way to avoid.
I knew he spoke out against the repeal of DADT but said he'd do what he was ordered to do, when it was repealed he supported it. Something didn't seem right about the whole thing if he really strongly objected at first.
