I have known Andrew since kindergarten. Never in a million years I would have ever guessed he would have ever gotten interested in politics.

From what I've read about the guy, he struck me as more of an Edwards groupie than a political ideologue. He put up with a lot more than I believe a typical party operative would have. And the way he described Edwards, and how much he believed in him, bordered on teenage girl/boy band adoration.

I couldn't tell if it was Edwards adulation or if it was power attainment adulation. You see it in a lot of folks who volunteer for a campaign. Do they do it because they have an unhealthy identification with the person or because they want to be at the candidates right hand then they take power? Either way,it's a heaping helping of not good. Campaigns have had this problem for a long time - they need warm bodies as volunteers and lowly paid staff, they are so grateful for anything they can get, they do nothing in terms of vetting staff.

Now in this particular instance - I would say that Edwards is infinitely worse than any of his staffers, and anything they may have done. To think that some advocated 8 years ago that he should be 1 heartbeat away from the Presidency is just chilling.
