Poll: Obama vs. Romney a 'toss-up' in Arizona (ASU Poll)
Merrill/Morrison Institute ^ | April 23, 2012 | Staff

With the 2012 presidential election just over six months away, the latest statewide Merrill/Morrison Institute poll found that Arizonans are evenly divided on whom they will support in November.

According to the poll of 488 registered voters, 42 percent said they would vote for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, while 40 percent said they would support President Barack Obama and 18 percent were undecided. Because the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent, if the election were held today the contest for Arizona’s 11 electoral votes would be a “toss up.”

But but..Romney is the most electable. With the LDSers 99.9% going to the polls Romney should win.

However, the huge illegal alien vote will go to the Dems.

Irrespective of Romney, a poll of registered voters with 18% undecided doesn’t tell us much, IMHO.

This is a bleeding heart/commie lib “poll” from ASU. I wouldn’t put too much stock in their results.

If Obama, the incumbent, is only getting 40% in this poll, he is toast in Arizona. The headline sensationalizes a dismal number (40%) for the most well known incumbent in the world.

See, Romney is no good. Write in Palin and give the country what it deserves, four more years of Obama!

"Poll: Obama vs. Romney a 'toss-up' in Arizona (ASU Poll)"

Ha! Of course it's a 'toss-up' between obomba and romney. Most Arizonans and Americans alike cannot see a difference between the two despite how many times the state run media tells us differently. Spin as they will the state run media and obombney's shills cannot excape either's record.

Plus the sample is less than half the size of many polls.

They may not have restricted the "registered voters" to people registered to vote in the US. Given that this was taken in Arizona, some of them could be Mexicans registered to vote in Mexico.

This election is going to be a wipeout of historic proportions. It’s beyond words how overmatched Romney is.

Nice going, GOP.

If these polling numbers are in this range a week before the Election, Obama will lose AZ in a landslide. 75%, or better, of undecideds always go for the challenger in the voting booth.

I was driving to work and saw this new bumper sticker on a Mercedes ML 350 with a GOP2012 bumper sticker in the Zero colors and font. Below it was smaller lettered “Guaranteed Obama Presidency”.

Let me emphasize again.....LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF “UNDECIDEDS”. After 3 years, people don’t know if they’re going to vote for Obozo???? The “Undecided” number always tells the story. They always go for the challenger on Election Day. if these numbers hold up, Romney will take AZ in a landslide.

Happily, an ID is required at the polling station to vote here in AZ. What needs to be done is a massive reregistration with a proof of citizenship needed to register. That is the only way we will know that citizens are the only ones allowed to decide the future of our once great country.

Nevertheless, I am still going to sit outside my polling place wearing a Border Patrol hat.

You CANNOT do that! It's provocative and intimidating, you will be arrested!!

The only thing you can do at the polling place is be a peacekeeper.

The battleground is going to be much different this time around. The republicans have a candidate that is appealing to republican moderates, but repulsive to evangelicals. I could see a state like Pennsylvania going with Romney while a state like Georgia falling to Zero.
