You’re correct, lots of black Republican women have run for Congress; in fact, quite s few have actually won the GOP nomination before (McGlowan couldn’t get that far), including one (Teresa Doggett) who came relatively close to winning. The author, who apparently isn’t very smart, must have meant that if (God willing, when) Mia Love is elected she’ll be the first black Republican woman in congressional history.

there was a black woman running for Congress in the Memphis area last year...Charlotte Bergman, IIRC.....

we just need to get more of them elected....

we just need to get more of them elected....and I do wish Dr. Deb Honeycutt would have won down in Georgia a few years ago...she was also dynamic....
