I don't really care for Styne. With him I last about 45 minutes.

Mark Levin would be great. We also have a guy on in the morning here in Atlanta - Rob Johnson - who would be great. I honestly think Rush gets lousy fill-ins so we will miss him even more.

Steyn apparently does long hits of nitrous oxide between air segments - he laughs and sputters for air uncontrollably through his monologues. It’s a shame because he is obviously a talented, intelligent writer but I think he’s afraid to get too heavy on the air.

Once upon a time they had a mad scramble to find a guest host and Mike McConnell, formerly of WLW Cincinnati and now of WGN Chicago, filled in. He is a solid, entertaining professional who also had a national once-a-week show thanks to his Clear Channel ties.

A few years ago Rush used to have Roger Hedgecock, former mayor of San Diego, and now syndicated radio talk show host, who did a good job of skewering the libs, fill in. For some reason he’s not on any more in favor of lame RINOs like MM.
