What the GOP should ask is not who Manchin is going to support for President, but who Manchin supported for Senate Majortiy Leader. Reid and Obama are the SAME!!

Any West Virginia politician who supports a Democrat really needs his head examined. Without coal WVA would still be in 1910. Obama and his ilk want to eliminate the use of coal.

The TPM story is awfully thin on information. So, is the guy about to try to switch parties? Is there a viable candidate on the republican side from West Virginia who could beat him in November?

Well Manchin is trying to position himself to simultaneously be for and against Zero.
Remember the WV GOP at the local level is almost invisible. It's barely functional at the state level. In the Manchin race and the governor’s race its a rematch of the candidates in the “special elections”. In both cases these candidates are pretty much self-funded. If they can avoid being painted with the “the-out-of-touch-with-the-little-man Rich Guy” brush (The class warfare tactic plays well in WV!) they might have a chance. If you don't know about WV and Appalachia in general you would think that RAT politicians have it made. They still seem to do at the local level, WV’ers still have not made the connection that ‘if you elect RATS are the local level, you enable them at the Federal level”. That being said, Zero has some unique characteristics that bring up WV ire. Zero comes across as prissily arrogant, he is a “busy-body” ,he is about as far to the extreme in social conservative issues as one can be, he is anti-gun and anti-coal (WV’ers love the outdoors and know you can be for the environment and still be pro-coal!)

Manchin barely won in 2010. This year, with Obama ( who is, to put is mildly, detested in W) atop the ticket, Manchin is gonna have a real big problem. The GOP candidate for Gov has a really good shot at winning as well. For ole Joe to pull this out will require a LOT of ticket splitting by WV voters...

I don’t know his voting record. But I remember when he ran for Senate, he did an ad in which he took a rifle, and shot the cap and trade bill. He is not on board with the global warming thing. And he’s got the coal industry to think about.
West Virginia has an edge in Democrat party registration, but there are not too many really liberal people there. Bush carried the state twice, and McCain easily carried it against Obama four years ago.

I am just waiting for it to play out. I am not jumping in one way or another, Manchin said. Im worried about me. Ive said its not a team sport. You need to go out and work for yourself. No, you pinheaded, brainless moron ... You need to go out and work for US: the people of the great State of West Virginia. Your employers, you know. The people who elected you. You're a servant, Joe. Act like one.

He will support and vote for whoever is in favor of coal. Correction, he will claim to be conservative to stay in office and then vote socialist. If he weren't a socialist, he wouldn't be a Democrat,

OK..but then, given the electorate, would Willard “I like to fire people” Romney have any chance at all?
Perhaps, a different GOP candidate would be more suited.

So the governor is worried about “me”
Nice
Didn’t this idiot know that what obama said about destroying the coal industry in 2008, he meant?
Is there a nice “biomass” (manure) recycling facility in WV you can name after this fool?

Not really. In 11, he got a 15 from the ACU (same as Menendez - NJ, Bill Nelson - Fl; less than Ben Nelson - Ne, Lieberman - Ct, Pryor - Ar).
His votes with the ACU were against greenhouse regulations (coal), against ethanol subsidies (coal), and for selling aircraft to Taiwain to increse its defense.

Not true as Joe has supported obammy’s foolish energy programs up to now.
Joe will make a bit of noise to show he is not up obammy’s rear but in the end Joe’s lips will be firmly on obammy’s butt.
