Morning AB, All...
Was just sitting here when the thread went up. Singing at the 10 am mass so need observations from yon Freep crowd as to the Sunday talk show content.
As always, thank you AB, for doing this thread.
One comment before I must go.
Delaware’s upcoming primary, this Tuesday, is a bit interesting in that Newt Gingrich has really been playing it.
Newt is like the Terminator, seeming to never die.
This past Thursday, y’all might recall, had someone from Newt’s campaign announcing that he was pulling out of the race and that he had cancelled all of his campaign appearances in some state, think it was one of the Carolinas but don’t hold me to it.
Then, as Newt’s campaign always does...they shouted...NO WAIT!
I think that Newt was really about to throw in the towel when somebody mentioned that Delaware’s primary was coming up and to announce withdrawal from the race might dampen that vote.
Ya think?
The plan was changed to announcing the withdrawal until AFTER the Delaware primary cause folks, Newt’s been working this state, especially proud Conservative Sussex county, wellspring of Christine O’Donnell and certifiable tar and pitchfork carrying.
Frankly I’d be surprised if Newt carried Delaware but who knows, with dreams of becoming the next COD to take down Romney, right here in the first state, he MIGHT pull it off.
Newt voters are way more likely to vote in this primary than Romney voters. Newt’s campaign stops here in Sussex county have been BY TICKET ONLY and I’m quite sure he has dreams of terminating up once again.
We shall see. NewCastle county is Delaware’s biggest and they’ll go Romney all the way. This is Mike Castle’s territory. HOWEVER, there’s not a whole lot of Repubs up there in the wilds of Newcastle save maybe Tom Ross and aforementioned Mike Castle.
Below, the link to my Blog post about why I am no longer a Republican, should anyone care.
I and husband will be voting for Newt in the Delaware primary, for what it might be worth.

Luckily, here in Alabama we do not have to belong to a party in order to vote in a primary. You simply ask for a democrat or Republican ballot when you go to vote.
Of course, this means that 3rd party votes aren’t held, at least in a primary. They can and will be on the ticket come November. Then, everyone gets the same ballot, with all the various candidates on it.
So we don’t have to “belong” to a party. Still, I always vote in the primaries, and always ask for a Republican ballot.
Last month I voted for Newt, but Santorum won our state because of all the Baptists, which is funny, being he’s a Catholic and all. I’ve made some hay for us Catholics down here on that! Been using it to straighten out some old lies about us Catholics that seem to be the default position for so many evangelists, like how we worship Mary, Saints and statues, are prevented from reading the Bible, and how we can only confess sins to a priest, etc, etc. So that part has been fun. I had a whole box of free Cathecisms given to me by my priest I passed out to various Baptist ministers (my father-in-law is one) who meet at the local McDonalds, Huddle House or Hardee’s for morning coffee and Bible study...
Anyway, go Newt!!! Win Delaware!
Pardon me, but that has been disavowed from the top as a communication glitch, not a true cancellation followed by a reversal.
I don’t know what went on there, and neither do you.
Therefore, it’s quite difficult to “interpret” it.
Thanks for putting a link to that instead of posting it directly.
I, for one, am fed up with quitters.
It has become clearly evident that the GOP leadership is RINO to the core!
