The Bushes never defended themselves, did they? It seems like they always were waiting for someone else to go on the offensive against the lib-dem-crappola. Just trying to be “nice-nice”, or what?
I always thought it was because the Bushes were embarrassed to do anything conservative; but, they had to sometimes only to get the votes. They hoped their liberal friends would just be understanding.
