Levin talks about what he says few have the guts to talk about, and that is how the Senate GOP establishment, McConnell, is trying to minimize conservative Sen. Ron Johnson who has made it clear he isnt in the Senate to buddy up with the leadership, but rather to represent his constituents and fight for conservatism. And on the other hand, the establishment types like McCain are teaming up with one of the go-along-to-get-along increasingly liberal senators, Dick Lugar, to help him defeat a great conservative hes running against.
So while they claim to be conservative, what they really want more than anything are people who will do their bidding and Levin isnt going to keep quiet about it. He explains it in full below:
I will certainly be gagging if I have to cast a vote for Romney THIS TIME. AGAIN, I’d vote for an orange-butted orangutang to get that trash out of the White House. I agree that we need to start getting rid of the establishment-types that think reaching across the aisle and ‘compromising’ with the radical left is good for the country. I think it’s just as important and possibly more to take the Senate with true conservative candidates so it won’t matter what Romney wants. We need to make sure that they can’t shove another Romney down our throat in the future. I’ve got to start researching who’s going to re-place Kay B-H in my state. If anybody has any insight on the candidates please help me. I’ve got to get up to scratch on that race fast.
With milt you don’t get 3 Kagans, instead u get 3 Souters.
Someone posted a while back -- in connection with Rush -- that Bain owns Clear Channel. I thought that might be tin-foil hat stuff, but googling around (wondering about a local "conservative" talk host), I found that Clear Channel was brought private in 2006 by Bain and Thomas H. Lee (also Mormon roots). Clear Channel owns, IIRC, 850 radio stations, and I think I recall seeing that that's about half the (major?) radio stations in the country.
Premiere Radio, which is Rush's syndicator (and I have only fuzzy speculation on just what that means -- and echoes of 50s TV shows, in which "the Syndicate" was organized crime, don't help!) is also owned by Bain. Obviously, I don't know in any detail how these things work, but I'd guess there are layers and layers of contractual agreements. I seem to recall that Levin is in the same position.
Re the Mormon connections -- it's all puzzling since the Mormon Church is against gay marriage and abortion. But it's not unprecedented for social or business interests to get entangled. At least through the 50s, anyone who wanted to rise to the top in American business was well advised to "convert" to Episcopalianism (perhaps contributing to that church's current turmoil!).
FWIW.
And about the only way for that to have a chance is for actual conservatives to do the minority mass-gather thing in front of RNC locations before they make their "edicts". Until we do other than just make noise, they have no reason to stop their treasonous ways.
Ron Johnson endorsed the RINO socialist Romney....let him deal with his own friends.
Actions have consequences. I won’t lift a finger to support those who have capitulated and endorsed Romney.
“The Romney Campaign is trying to force Tommy Thompson down the throats of Wisconsin voters.”
Maybe Ron Johnson should have figured this out before he stabbed conservatives in the back by endorsing Romney. Oh well.
Now that’s funny! :^D
So, who's saying what in your post?
The senate is the bastion of aristocracy. They even like choosing their own members (the national republican and democratic campaign committees) instead of letting the people in the individual states choose them.
Hatch was forced into a primary yesterday and hopefully, Lugar will be a lame-duck senator in a few weeks. Time to clean house, one election at a time.
Duh, Hey Mark, we have kown this for a coule years now, why don’t you reort on the NBC issue, coward.
So, who's saying what in your post?
On the day santorum quit, Levin said that "we conservatives have to pull out a win for Romney" - maybe 4 hours after Santorum had left the race...
He and Rush, and all the other usual suspects, have now taken to giving romney on-air advice as to what he needs to do to win this victory we all have to pull together to give him"...
lol/ There are a few here it seems. But given 'for how long' and the 'variations' per ID. . .appears not to be a problem. ;-)
Lots of 'crickets' chirping. . .
Well; a ‘few’ anyway. . .
Is Romney a RINOlander,
Who caves-in to Debt-Decline?
Will he re-write Obamacare,
And propel us into financial hell?
Will Romney cast out REASON,
And join the Democrats lot?
Romneys past brings sparse hope to mind,
Of those that are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY,
Of those who are not blind.
Are you kidding? It was his “Plan”.
LOL
LOL
Kind of reminds me of a company I once worked for. It was not a pleasant place to work, but management had a tactic they used whenever a valued employee was thinking of leaving: they tried to frighten them into staying - "It's a cold, cold, world out there! You will wish you'd never left!"
Fortunately, I had to good sense to see beyond this tactic.
Post CWII, the New Confederate Senate won’t have this problem.
And that is why I asked the question. Levin supports Hatch but not Lugar. I find both Lugar and Hatch unsatisfactory.
Can’t disagree and would have to hope that the real thinkers in the Senate would flip the kill switch on that scenario the way they did to Bush with Miers.
