He was on his way home to watch the game.

He had more than enough time to get back home once Zimmerman lost sight of them. That is established by the times of the 911 calls.

He didn't get back home because he was angry and Zimmerman and wanted to teach him a lesson.

What are you going to do about the witness who says there was a chase?

What witnesses are those?

The prosecution admits it has no evidence that Zimmerman started the physical altercation. The physical evidence, photos of Zimmerman's head bleeding and a witness say Martin was on top of Zimmerman beating him severely. If you're being beaten was badly as Zimmerman was, you have right to defend yourself, with lethal force if necessary.
