I have a gut feeling this is a hoax. The first result I found says this should have happened in March.

Generally if you see the same story repeated with different dates, it is probably a hoax that just won’t die.
Hmm, interesting... Now that you mention it, I remember that I DID have an apparent DNS hijack on my computer in late Feb., had a heck of a time cleaning it.
No, the virus wasn’t supposed to hit on March 8th, the FBI help computers were going to shut down. A judge ordered them to remain open for another 4 months.
Here’s the story. It’s not a hoax. Search for “dns changer” and you will find all kinds of info.

You can also go the various computer mags and find info. Here’s PC Mag: http://www.pcmag.com/search_redirect/?qry=dns+changer&searchSection=0&site=3
Of course, if you want to believe this is a scheme for big brother, big sister, and the commies to take over your computer, feel free.
if a site doesn’t end with .gov,’it’s not likely the FBI is making any such suggestion. Wouldn’t go there for love nor money.
