Recently, a black woman, Verna McClain, repeatedly shot an killed an unarmed white woman, Kala Golden Schuchardt, and abducted her three day old infant son, Keegan Schuchardt.
If Kala had been armed, perhaps she could have defended herself.

As it is, the silence from President Obama, Jessie Jackson, and Al Sharpton has been deafening.

Keegan did not look the way the president's son might have looked, if he had a son. However, Verna McClain looks like she could have been the president's sister.

If Zimmerman were found innocent, we would be threatened with riots and told the verdict was “racist”.

NO, that is NOT what is happening. What is happening is a political lynching, undue influence, and abuse. This is about political pressure to charge someone with a crime that has no evidence to support it. That is a violation of Zimmerman’s rights.

Moreover, economist John Lott, an expert in applying regression analysis to use of guns and violent crime, rightly argues that the most important issue is, "Did the [Stand Your Ground] laws increase total deaths? More criminals might be killed in justifiable self-defense, but if the number of innocent lives lost falls by more than the deaths of criminals rises, is that really a bad thing?"

Devil's advocate here: Who determines innocence? Even criminals have families. Now the public is expected to rule on this? The criminal's family (the Martins) wants justice for their "baby," who, for all intents and purposes, was gangbanger-wannabe.

This should stand as a warning to gangs as well. They could be reducing their ranks if they keep sending wannabe-gangster boys after armed citizens.
