Mitt Romney will take a victory lap before members of the Republican National Committee when the party meets at an annual event in Scottsdale, Ariz., this week
While Romney is not formally the party's nominee yet -- he has not clinched the 1,144 delegates required to secure the nomination, and two other candidates remain in the race -- party rules all but guarantee he will win enough delegates to claim the nomination on the first ballot at the GOP's convention in Tampa. Recognizing that reality, Romney and the RNC set up a joint fundraising account earlier this month to begin raising the big bucks it will take to compete in the fall.
And yet Romney won't be speaking to an entirely friendly crowd. While he has secured support from the bulk of the committee's members, at least two state party chairs support other candidates. A.J. Spiker, who heads the Iowa Republican Party, backs Rep. Ron Paul, while Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart is bound by party rules to back former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Interesting: new poll shows that 63% of likely Romney voters say their vote is against Obama; only 35% said it was for Romney.
The Anti-Romney: The People Decide
Romney is “inevitable” ONLY if conservatives sit back and do nothing.

"One of the things that will be discussed is a potential endorsement." But it won't just be an endorsement Romney and Santorum will discuss. "The senator takes his endorsement very seriously and he will want to get some assurance that some of the issues that are very important to him will be important in a Romney administration. That's why I think they need to have a conversation," Brabender said... Source:

I wrote a similar letter to Reince P., Marguerite.
Valiant effort but the RNC doesn’t care about us Conservatives.
And unless their money source is cut off, they will likely ignore letters like ours.
“Any bets as to whether Santorum will endorse Romney?”
After he said what he said about Romney on the campaign trail???

“Valiant effort but the RNC doesnt care about us Conservatives.”
As the conservative votes represent some 45% of the Republican votes, let RNC not care about them. They will drown with their “crowned” moderate liberal from Mass.!
Newt Gingrich has just finished speaking at a Rally in Buffalo.
He was joined by Carl Paladino, local developer and former GOP gubernatorial candidate.
Paladino has been a longtime supporter of Gingrich, who enjoyed Tea Party support throughout the race. Paladino has been critical of Romney, and in a release said the following:
“Help us send a clear message to the Republican Establishment that financing Mitt Romney’s negative advertising campaign against Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum is unacceptable to the Republican rank and file whose desire is to nominate the best candidate to face down the evil that permeates Washington today. The attempt to shove Mitt Romney’s candidacy down the throats of the people is abhorrent.”

Romney Delaware Endorser Switches His Support to Gingrich
Hans Reigle, Chairman of the Kent County Republican Party, is switching his support from Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich. Reigle has also served as the Mayor of Wyoming, Delaware and over 20 years in the United States Air Force.
I previously endorsed Governor Romney, but since then Newt is the only candidate who has shown a willingness to meet and talk with Delaware voters for more than hour, said Hans Reigle. Over the past few weeks Ive listened to Newt discussing his vision for achieving $2.50 gasoline, balancing the budget, and shrinking the size of government and it is exactly the kind of positive agenda we need for Delaware and America. Im proud to switch my support to Newt Gingrich and cast my vote for him next Tuesday.

Terry Spence, former Speaker of the Delaware House, is supporting the Georgia Republican’s presidential bid.
“Under Newt’s leadership with the Contract With America, he led a team that balanced the budget, paid off the national debt, and reformed our welfare system,” Mr. Spence said in the release. “We desperately need Newt’s knowledge, experience, and bold leadership skills to get America back on the right track. While other candidates have ignored Delaware, Newt has been campaigning here aggressively and I encourage my fellow Delawareans to vote for Newt Gingrich next Tuesday.”
We’re going to have a Conservative conference here in WI in June.
Other Tea party groups need to do same..so that we can brainstorm about how to proceed.
I say change our name to the Freedom Party, wait for the GOP to crash and get ready to take over.
Any poll numbers out of Delaware? Newt needs to win 3 more states
None that I am aware of.
