Conservative Choices or Republican Sheep? (Vanity)

Conservatives laugh at sheep and useful idiots. We laughed at Democrats when their "Anybody but Bush" got them Kerry. They thought that "Anybody but" works. It doesn't. The electorate needs something to vote FOR and not against. It's called "inspiration" and "something to believe in". Fear is not a belief. It is an unbridled emotion that clouds judgment and has been on full display lately.
Romney is not yet the nominee but some believe it is a done deal. The controllers, the RNC and the MSM, want you to believe that. It flies in the face of everything we know. But fear has gripped the electorate, even on Free Republic, and posters are lashing out at one another rather than considering options.
Newt Gingrich is still in the race. He has not given up on the country that he loves. He is a historian and knows what it took to build this Republic. He is also watching it be destroyed by both parties, Democrats and Republicans. Gingrich fights on but some conservatives have already surrendered.
Mitt Romney will not save the Republic nor reverse it's downfall. And we ARE on the brink of financial destruction. His record is one of parceling off pieces of failed companies, not saving them. He will not save the country.
Some are ready to believe the RNC's fairy tale when you know they are lying. Fight back! Deny Romney the 1144 he needs and stop talking about voting for him. The elites read FR. They know they have conservatives scared and by supporting Romney on FR, you are telling the elites that they have won. The primaries are not over and Romney is not the inevitable winner. Support the last man standing and stop giving encouragement to the enemy of our country.

So? Romney’s father was an ass. So was Reagan’s. I’ll remember that next time the late George Romney runs for office.

I guess we're all in denial because we disagree with you. Hey, did Obama withdraw Kagan or Sotomayor based on our objections? No. However the liberal Republican Bush withdrew Harriet Myers after we Conservatives lobbied hard. He replaced her with a GREAT Judge that has upheld our Conservative values. You can ignore that reality. I won't.
To: Nicojones
You think Romney is like Bush?! OMG!!!
You really do know nothing about Romney. Bush didn't sell land to the Muslims for the 9/11 mosque. Romney did!
Romney appointed 27 out of 36 VERY liberal judges, several of whom were members of radical homosexual rights groups.
Romney is a gun grabbing, homosexual rights, abortionist.
You know nothing about Romney.
GOODNIGHT.

Why would you believe that?
Romney has a steady and reliable behavior pattern of saying he is conservative on an issue and then doing the Liberal Progressive thing on just about every issue that is important to conservatives.
1. He stated he had a Pro-Life conversion, then appointed an extreme Pro-Abortion liberal to a judgeship, and then stated later he would continue to protect all of MA "Pro-Choice" laws and still supported embreoynic stem-cell research.
2. He has always stated that he believed that marriage was between a man and a woman, and then allowed an unconstitutional and illegal ruling by the Supreme Court of MA go unchallenged that allowed Gay Marriage when by the constitution of MA only the Legislature can institute/create laws pertaining to marriage. He did this after being warned by many conservatives and conservative christians about the illegality/unconstitutional nature of the action of the SC of MA and then he lied and stated it was the law of the land. The Supreme Court of MA cannot create laws, they can only rule on existing laws.
3. Romney increased Fees and Taxes $700 million while Governor of MA after promising not to raise taxes in the campaign for Governor. Anyone with a brain knows that fees are just undeclared taxes and to this day he defends this behavior.
4. His Romney care included $50 abortions, and when he was confronted with the documented facts he still lies about it.
5. He or his staff have declared that Romney has always been Pro-2nd Amendment, and yet, he supported the Brady Bill and he IMPLEMENTED his own phony "Assault Weapons" ban.
6. At CPAC he stated "I have always been Pro-Life" and yet you will find You-Tube video after You-Tube video of Mitt Romney stating the exact opposite.
7. At CPAC he stated he was a "Severely" conservative governor of MA, and yet, and just about every issue, he either stated the Liberal Progressive line or implmented policies that were Liberal Progressive in nature.
The list I've given you is only a small list of the lies of Mitt Romney. He does it reflexively.
Why would any serious and sincere conservative believe any word that comes out of his mouth?

Harriet Myers was at worst a flawed conservative, Romney on the other hand, nominated 27 extreme, left-wing, Progressive Liberals out of 36 nominations.
There is no comparison between GWB and whatever his flaws are and Mitt Romney and his sordid, lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal record, especially on judicial nominations.
Legal analysts say candidate Romney is different from Gov. Romney.
Liberty Counsel Action Vice President Matt Barber said Romneys appointments were constitutional living document poster children.
Many of Romneys appointments were not only liberal, not only Democrats, but were radical counter-constitutionalists. How on earth can we expect that, as president, he would be any different? Barber asked rhetorically.
Actions speak louder than words, and Mitt Romneys actions as governor scream from the rooftops that he cannot be trusted with this most important of presidential responsibilities.
Barber cites two specific examples of Romneys radical appointments.
As governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney not only failed in this regard, he appointed a number of very liberal, if not radical, living, breathing-minded judges to the bench, Barber said.
Two that come to mind were extreme homosexualists Marianne C. Hinkle and Stephen Abany, he said. They both had a long history of pro-gay activism, yet Romney didnt hesitate to put them on the bench. These are people who outrageously believe the postmodern notion that newfangled gay rights trump our constitutionally guaranteed First Amendment rights, he said.
Baldwin agreed, citing Romneys statements about the two requirements he actually used when selecting judges.
Romney did focus on two criteria: their legal experience and whether they would be tough on crime. In other words, the nominee could be a gay activist or a pro-big government, pro-quota, pro-gun control Democrat Party hack who detests every judicial principle treasured by our founding fathers, Baldwin said. But if he happens to be tough on crime and have prosecutorial experience, he gets past the Romney filter. Many of Romneys nominees fit that description.
Baldwin added that Romney did have some ideological criteria for many of his nominees:
It was criteria commonly used by the left. For starters, his nominees were mostly pro-abortion. Indeed, while campaigning for governor in 2002, Romney told the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) that his judicial nominees would more likely protect abortion rights than would those of a Democrat Governor, according to notes from a person attending this meeting.
Another Romney criteria, Baldwin explained, was diversity.
The other criteria consistently emphasized by Gov. Romney in deciding judicial selections was diversity. This is the silly notion that judgeships should reflect the population in terms of race and gender and even sexual orientation, regardless of a persons judicial philosophy, he said. Clearly, the use of diversity quotas demonstrates Romneys lack of a coherent conservative worldview.

I'm so sorry, I couldn't be here last night. Unexpected pressing issues.
Hear! Hear! You're right on, DJ! This ugly primary is not yet over, so this is no time to cave or to fall for the media and GOP-E spinmeister rants! Like Jim's tagline reads: "No crying in Rebellion."
Rebel in your primaries. Vote for Newt Gingrich.
Be true to your own conservative convictions. Pray, and put your trust in Him. Just tonight in Lancaster, PA, Newt Gingrich said, (paraphasing) that "We must have a candidate who is capable of telling the truth better than Obama tells falsehoods," [because} "truth always wins."
Please don't lie to yourselves. Romney doesn't have a conservative bone in his body. He's a liar and con artist.
If the GOP-E puts him up against the Marxist liar, none of us win. Liar against a liar. It won't matter which liar wins the election.
Great job, DJ!!! Thanks very much!!!!!

I agree with you. If the Pubbies nominate Mittens, then what? Then keep your eyes peeled for a court full of David Souters.
And a tinkered version of communist health care.
And a fully sodomized military, national gay "marriage", and all kinds of "green" coming out of your wallet.
That's what.

“Harriet Myers was at worst a flawed conservative, Romney on the other hand, nominated 27 extreme, left-wing, Progressive Liberals out of 36 nominations”
That's a stretch. Although she was a born again Christian, she was a former Democrat that had her nomination tanked by an outcry of Conservatives like myself. I won't bore you with a review of her record. You can google it yourself. Heck, search free republic for all of the threads at that time, most calling her words to the effect of a liberal Trojan horse. In my opinion, using her name next to Conservative, even with the prefix “flawed”, is an insult to all Conservatives.
To: DJ MacWoW
Thank you for saying this.
Without a strong Conservative leader [NEWT], Congress will continue their slide toward European socialism — a failed system.
To: Nicojones; SoConPubbie
And you AGAIN dodge the point. Romney appointed extreme left judges. Address the point.

Yeah, and Ted Nugent, who has articulated the exact same point that I just made, is a pansy. Got it. Your confusing a difference of opinion on strategy to remove an opponent with something else.

If you vote based on what others do then it proves that
you do not know Romney's record.
This thread is about the fact that Romney is not the nominee. And it is still possible to have a brokered convention.

Dude, I don't trust any politician. However, if you're implying that anyone who determines it is in our Nation's best interest to support the opposing candidate to Obama is “not a serious conservative”, then you're clearly down on a long list of conservatives that are espousing my exact views. Here's That communist agitator Ted Nugent. He's clearly not a sincere or serious conservative,

No. I've answered you. see my prior posts on judicial appointment influence.
I'll rephrase for you. I take your point to be that we should never pull the lever for Romney in the general election with Obama because he appointed liberal judges while Governor of a State that has a communist legislature (with no hope of getting a conservative through. Romney's is quoted as stating that he appointed the most conservative justices that he could , given that situation). I disagree with you, DJMacWOW. As we did with Bush in the Harriet Meyers debacle, we have a shot of doing the same with Romney on a national level, particularly with a hopefully a Republican senate. We will have no influence whatsoever over Obama as was seen with the Kagan Sotomyor appointments.
