Is this true? Newt is selling the donor list to whom? Advertisers? Other campaigns? RINOs?

And the campaign intends to repay "the loans." Which loans? The loans Newt made with his own cash? So is he staying in merely to get enough further contributions to pay himself back?

(Had to post from Politico because USA Today is blocked on FR.)

Campaign insiders attribute the problems partly to Gingrich and his wife Callista’s, asserting that the couple was unwilling to downgrade from private jets and security details even as the campaign floundered. Insiders say Callista Gingrich required an entourage of at least two staffers – including one who dressed in an elephant costume to promote her children’s book – and a contracted security guard who followed her even on non-campaign trips.

Ouch. If this is true, what was he thinking?

” So is he staying in merely to get enough further contributions to pay himself back? “

That’s about it in a nutshell.

Campaign donors are public information. See the FEC website. Nobody is going to pay too much for information already available for free.

So who did he rent the list to?

He could have a contest where the winner predicts State No. 3 for Newt to win. No one would win the contest, and he could pocket all the proceeds.

Renting the donor list costs $135-per-thousand-names (more if you want to target specific donor levels or geographic areas), while the activist list can be rented for $50-per-thousand email addresses. That means that each time the full lists are rented, the Gingrich campaign could make between $19,000 and $26,000 after subtracting the broker’s commission, which is typically between 10 and 20 percent.

So if you're a Newt donor, your name is worth about .14 cents. And if you actually work for him, then you're worth a nickel.

Well, it has to be true doesn't it?

I mean, after all, USA Today and Politico are beacons of truth and justice when it comes to "reporting" on Republicans, aren't they?

Before the rant on Newt lets remember who let Newt down. The voters!

I still believe Newt is the only chance we have for a Constitutional freedom in America.

Here is what Callista couldn’t do without. It is all about her.

Maybe she could ask Newt to suit up, be Ellis, and save. LOL

This is another way to say “I’m broke and in debt way past my eyeballs.”

Gingrich will “stay in” until Romney and the RNC pay his millions of dollars in campaign debt.

What ever happened to conducting oneself in an honorable manner? Yeah, I know it’s politics but still, this stinks.
