When I was in school I never saw a single kid tear things off the walls or throw furniture.

You've led a very sheltered life. And there is nothing wrong with that. But in some school districts things much worse than this are common.

Bull. Not having classmates who behaved like wild animals has nothing to do with “sheltering.” If you believe that kind of thing is common to everyone’s childhood, something’s wrong.
