Ever wonder what it takes to sanitize a Daily Kos post of all the snark and pompous windbaggery? We found out today, when their very own poll showed Wisconsin governor Scott Walker opening up a lead on his two primary Democratic opponents in the pending June 5 recall election. (One imagines the Daily Kos author typing that post while looking like Sylvester the Cat having swallowed a bag of alum.)

So we have the possibility of Saul Alinsky's phiosophy prevailing *state-wide* versus *nationwide*? Yes,Governor Walker's important but if forced to choose which *one* I'd rather see lose it's Walker.
And no,I *don't*,in fact, want to see Walker lose.
The graph shows vividly the results of Reid and Pelosi taking control of the Senate and House in 2007 and then food stamp usage increasing at warp speed as Zerobama took over the presidency in 2009.
Ooops...worded that badly.I wish FR would allow editing of posts after they’re up.I meant to say that if Walker *or* the Republican nominee had to lose I’d rather it be Walker. But I want both Walker *and* the Republican nominee to win.I only want Osama to lose.
The Obama administration has actually been encouraging greater use of food stamps. They have been advertising for more people to sign up. They have rewarded states like Oregon with a monetary bonus for increasing the size of their food stamp rolls.
I think we need to see the evidence before judging the Democrats’s assertion about the Walker spokeswoman. :)
Do you really think there will be an electorally normal 2016 with either of the Obamneys at the helm? Occasionally conservative Justice Kennedy is the only thing between the USA and an outright transmogrification (pace Calvin) of the political system. Neither Obamney will appoint a conservative Justice if we lose one of the ones we have and Republicans in the Senate, no matter how it is composed, will not vote to leave a seat vacant just because the president will only appoint socialists.
I don't think we will have access to the deck chairs to rearrange them- with either Obamney. And even with a Republican Romney presidency it is not the Republicans who will get to run the New Socialist America.
It has not been lost on the MSM. MSM just doesn't like those consequences.
Not more important, but very important.
WI is the race to watch and I’ll tell you that IL politicians are watching that race. They want to make similar moves here in Illinois, but are afraid. I suspect that MI, OH and other Dem strongholds are doing the same. If the unions look weak here it’s over for the public sector unions.
I don’t think you’re scoring it correctly. Romney is my last choice this time around. He’s a political weather vane, whichever way the wind blows he’s going that way. If we elect a conservative Congress he’ll go along with them.
He’s got a reputation, deserved or not, for being a turnaround guy. He’ll have to turn things around. The biggest danger is him surrounding himself with Kenes boys and ruining things faster.
Anyone who thinks a Romney presidency would be 'the same as 0bama' is fooling themselves. If 0bama goes, so goes the CZARS. Even if the ONLY difference between 0bama and Romney is the purging of the CZARS, the vote for Romney is entirely worth it. These thugs (CZARS) are behind much of the carnage going on in America and need to be stopped. A conservative Congress would ensure Romney not continue with such nonsense.
My question is this: WHY is the congress allowing these Czar positions to be paid with tax money? Those positions are not elected and not authorized by anyone in congress. What reason besides the gutless GOP / Congress are We the People allowing these unelected socilists appointees to DO this carnage.
Self inflicted wounds. Same with all the executive orders, new EPA rules, Dept. of Education and on and on. WHY are we allowing these idiotic rules to be pushed down our throats?
“By my scoring, it was probably game set match at some point in the Republican primary. We need a president who can lead a u-turn.”
And it’s appropriate that you made this comment in a thread discussing Walker.
If there is one Republican in America who should have been leading the ticket this year, it is Scott Walker.
A soft-spoken but intelligent man of character and principles, who says what he wants to do and then sticks with it, not giving up against the greatest of adversaries. (Aside: compare these qualities with Romney...)
What is leadership supposed to be about?
Ditto, I’m in IL and donated and doing everything I can to help Governor Walker fight the Union Thugs from hell.
Me too!
Was is a Volt? Or at least a UAW made vehicle?
This is also basically a referendum on union reform much more than it is a race between two candidates. Unfortunately we lost one of those in Ohio. We lose another one of these and the issue’s going be dead for a long time like Social Security reform was after Bush failed to get it through.
The graph also shows how as soon as Newt took the House in 1994, things changed dramatically and food stamp usage went way down. As soon as Newt left in 2000 and Bush was elected, the numbers immediately started climbing back up to their pre-Newt levels.
