Washed up rocker and reality TV star Ted Nugent appeared at the NRAs national convention in St. Louis. Nugent, a longtime NRA board member and regular presence at conventions, rallied the NRA faithful on Saturday to vote for Mitt Romney: Your goal should be to get a couple thousand, per person whos here, to vote for Mitt Romney in November.
Nugent called President Obama a criminal and denounced his vile, evil America-hating administration which is wiping its ass with the Constitution. Taking it a step further, he said that If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year. If you cant galvanize and promote and recruit people to vote for Mitt Romney, were done, he continued.
Supreme Court justices also came under assault by Nugent, who claims that the courts more liberal members have signed a declaration against Americans right to self-defense: Weve got four Supreme Court justices who dont believe in the Constitution. Does everyone here know that four of the Supreme Court justices not only determined you dont have the right to keep and bear arms, four Supreme Court justices signed their name to a declaration that Americans have no fundamental right to self-defense. Nugent concluded with a call to cut off the heads of Democrats in November: We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?
I’m amazed at how many are willing to cast away every principle upon which this free republic is premised out of abject fear of Barack Obama.
Looks to me like he’s already defeated you.
It has dawned on many on our side-—and still hasn’t hit some-—that there will only be two choices in November. The ONLY patriotic, reasonable, or compassionate choice is whoever is NOT Obama. You can vote for Romney, or vote against Obama, but any vote not for Romney will enhance the One’s chances at reelection. I’ve made up my mind. I voted for Newt, gave to Cain, but this is not even close to being a judgment call in my book.
Yes, it is a difficult situation. I should have said it a little differently but any way you look at it, we are going to have one of two men as our next president.
I very much fear a second Obama term where he will be able to govern as he pleases, free from the constraints of another election to face. This was conveyed in strinking terms in his whisper to Dmitry Medvedev when Obama thought he was off-mike.
Thus, I have no choice but to back Romney. Come what may, it will be a darned site better than an Obama second term.
I am not suggesting WE should support him.
I was answering what caused Ted Nugent to support him.
I suspect Ted thinks like us, but is simply supporting what he believes to be the most likely ABO.
So if BO wins, you'd consider that a victory?
Sorry Romney is no different than BHO.

His first term is Exhibit A. What more would you like him to do? He's already repealed DADT, made recess appointments while Congress was in session, openly tried to influence the Supreme Court decision on the biggest case of our lifetime, he's getting away with the Fast & Furious scandal, he got away with the Solyndra and other scandals. He's trying to start a race war. He lies before the American people on a daily basis with no one calling him out. The man knows no bounds. It's not that we are afraid of obama. It's that there appear to be no checks and balances or media oversight of anything he does. That is the scary part.
That will depend on how R2 works out.
That's silly. Those of us who find it impossible to support Romney---most of us, anyway---understand that people like Levin and Palin have said all along that they will support the eventual nominee. They will be doing their jobs, and they have to make their own decisions according to their own consciences. Everyone does.
I don't include Cain in that group because he doesn't have the character or integrity (which I knew before) to support his candidate to the end. His words were, "At one point I endorsed Newt, okay?" as though it was a temporary whim. Rick Perry, on the other hand, will be with Newt all the way.
No more than I would consider it a victory if the Republican socialist won.
Why do you think it will be any kind of victory for conservatives for a socialist to win this election?
Did you get that free vacation offer from the timeshare company since Newt has started selling his donor list. Even Newt is not supporting Newt to the end. All Newt wants is to get whole by the convention.

In his second term, he'll complete his mission to transform the USA into a larger version of Greece, which will be controlled by a black Marxist ruling class.
I guess you would see this ‘poster’ as the leader of the “RDS” group.

He has used more than weasle words in the past, he has supported laws that have increased taxes and or fees on gunowners, has supported the Brady bill, has supported “assault weapons” bans. He has never defined what the Second Amendment means to him, when a politician says he supports the Second Amendment most of us think he defines it the same way we do. He apparently doesn’t believe that the Second Amendment applies to ALL American citizens as he supported legislation that would hamper the rights of Mass. citizens, he may even believe it’s more of a states rights issue than an individual God given right. Most likely he has no strong opinion, just pandering to whatever group he’s talking to.
But I will not do that.
As Sam Adams would say:
"Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!"
Let me give it to you straight and with no varnish:
I fear a conservative movement that has totally abandoned all principle infinitely more than I fear a second Obama term.
We've survived evil, stupid politicians before. But we cannot survive an electorate with no principles. Especially that portion of the electorate that represents the only hope of ever putting this country back aright.
Buy time for subsequent pushback.
I was only answering the question why Ted Nugent did.
“Im amazed at how many are willing to cast away every principle upon which this free republic is premised out of abject fear of Barack Obama.”
Be amazed all you want. There is no rationale you can come up with that makes Obama’s re-election the preferable option to me.
