By the way, I understand Newt was in congress for something like three decades and had something over a 90% life-long conservative rating, finishing with a 98% rating in his last year.

I don’t know if the American Conservative Union rated Romney’s 4 years as governor, but if they did, I’m betting it’s somewhere close to zero.

Please post your list of Romney’s conservative accomplishments while governor. Just curious.

Yes, Newt’s lifetime ACU rating was 90. Perhaps you misunderstood - I believe Newt is a conservative and I did not believe (and do not) believe that Romney is a conservative. I wasn’t saying that Romney’s record was conservative (Conservapedia did - http://www.conservapedia.com/Mitt_Romney), I was saying that the idea that he was a conservative governor was a joke. I believe Romney was moderate at best.

I read elsewhere that Romney’s ACU rating as governor was 55. I have no idea if that’s true. A few weeks ago, however, the Chairman of the ACU said that “Although former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has never served in Congress, we have similarly reviewed his gubernatorial record and campaign positions — both of which earn him bona fides as a true conservative.”
