Well, I was a Cain supporter, and I would vote for Newt 100 times out of 100 between Newt and Mitt. I posted that list because Newt has his flaws as well, regardless of the scale they might be on. I believe Newt is a conservative. I believe Romney wants to be elected. He says the right things (most of the time) but his record said otherwise. I saw another page refer to Romney’s gubernatorial record as “mostly conservative,” which I think is a joke. As I said in a post above, the only thing Romney ever said that I honestly believed was that he hated the Yankees. Everything else he says sounds opportunistic to me.
Like many others (yourself included), I took an oath. Is Romney an enemy? Socially, absolutely, but he’s not an enemy of the country. I do not take Romney at his words, whatever they might be, when it comes to social issues. I have heard people who have converted and understood the evil of abortion, and I don’t believe Romney’s one of them. I do believe, however, that Romney would be much better economically. I do believe that Romney would not populate his administration with Communists and Communist sympathizers. I do believe that he would not sell out our country to the Russians nor would he sell out our allies in Israel. I have no idea what he would do about judges, but if he were elected I hope and pray we could turn Harriet Myers into Samuel Alito again.
I guess what I’m saying is that there are some issues - and very important issues at that - that Romney is clearly head and shoulders above Obama on. Yes, Newt is head and shoulders above Obama on damn near all of them, but barring a miracle he isn’t going to be the nominee. It pisses me off that my primary came and went with no chance for me to vote for Newt or Santorum, but neither was on the ballot. I wasn’t going to vote for Romney or Paul either. That’s life. I’d like a desk job with working A/C, but I’m on a base next to a sewage treatment facility.
Romney buys us time. I also have to believe that he’s smart enough to realize that governing left would be political suicide. Obama doesn’t even care. I need to fight the enemy that’s inside the house before I fight the enemy at the gates.

Romney has big plans for you and me. For starters, even with all the damage he has done to our nation and our freedom with RomneyCare (ObamaCare) he still loves the little piece of statist/fascism bearing his name and is now setting up a national health care task force to impose it on all 50 states. He still insists that it is a “conservative free-market” program and he refuses to recognize the truth. Well, that’s probably because “truth” is a foreign concept to him, but that’s another story. If RomneyCare is free-market then why does it require government force, mandates and penalties for non-compliance to impose it on us? There is nothing conservative or free-market about RomneyCare or its author.
Romney must think the “con” in conservative stands for conman. He certainly is a flim-flam man. There’s nothing conservative about Romney despite the rhetoric spewing from his big lying mouth. As they say in Texas, he’s all hat and no cattle.
He promotes abortion and homosexuality, which contributes to the downfall of the nation. God is real.
