Three Americans hikers were imprisoned in Iran after crossing the border from Iraq. Are you concerned about safety?
Yeah, that was a sketchy situation, but we're covering all of our bases and getting permission from their government to travel there. We'll be smart and abide by all of the rules. Not saying there's not a chance that something will go down, but that's what makes it an adventure.
Speaking of prisoners, we have the highest amount of imprisoned people for the longest durations of time of any country in the entire world. More than 2.3 million people are locked up over here, a shocking amount of them are completely innocent. I am mystified at the way my country deals with problems, especially when interacting with other countries, like Iran. I am not afraid to travel to Iran. They will for sure grope me down less than our TSA.

I hope we don’t waste our Navy Seals on saving this idiot.

What percentage is "shocking?" 5, 10, 20, 50?

Find the name of the female Canadian journalist who died of a “disease” in an Iranian prison a few years back.
Bizarre disease too. It apparently caused evidence of repeated rapes, torture, broken bones, cuts, burns, and abrasions.

Then let him move to Iran and stay there.
If he wants a little excitement, he can always carry a bible.
What a maroon.

They should make her sign a waiver before she goes that when she is captured, not one American dime or person will be used to help her-she can rot.

Thank you.
Zahra Kazemi
Zahra "Ziba" Kazemi-Ahmadabadi (1948 July 11, 2003) was an Iranian-Canadian freelance photographer, residing in Montreal, Canada, who died in the custody of Iranian officials following her arrest.
Although Iranian authorities insist that her death was accidental and that she died of a stroke while being interrogated, Shahram Azam, a former military staff physician who used his purported knowledge of Kazemi's case for seeking asylum in Canada in 2004, has stated that he examined Kazemi's body and observed that Kazemi showed obvious signs of torture, including a skull fracture, broken nose, signs of rape and severe abdominal bruising. Iranian officials claimed that Azam had been afflicted with mental health issues and that he had been discharged before Kazemi's death.

She should try prisons in places like Mexico, South America, and even Russia before complaining about ours.
I watched a TV program (one of those "Lockup" shows I think) about a prison in Russia called the "Black Dolphin." It was winter, and the staff was walking around inside with heavy coats and fur hats on. Inmates were not allowed to lie down on their bunks during the day and they had absolutely nothing to do in their cells- no books, cards, nothing, as I recall. When they moved from place to place in the prison, not only were their hands cuffed behind their backs, they had to walk bent over at the waist.
It was a bare, miserable, dreary place.
