The Washington Times is usually pretty good, but they really blew this one. They claim that Romney is now getting Tea Party support. The writer for the Times either didnt know better or engaged in some creative writing. Among other things, he claims that Freedomworks has dropped its opposition to Romney, something that Freedomworks denies.
The Times in its blatant desire to see Romney as the nominee claims that Freedomworks launched the Tea Party movement. Ignoring the fact that is not true, I dont think even Freedomworks makes that claim. They did help organize a big DC rally in 2009, which was one of the most impressive rallies held, but the movement launched months before they became involved.
The desperation of the Romney crowd to get him anointed as the nominee is becoming disgusting and desperate. It reminds me of the bums rush a used car salesman gives a customer so they will buy before they realize how bad a deal they are getting.
And we are already starting to see this.
On CNN this morning, Romneys communications director, one Eric Fehnstrom announced that once the primary was over, Romney would be resetting.
HOST: Is there a concern that Santorum and Gingrich might force the governor to tack so far to the right it would hurt him with moderate voters in the general election.
FEHRNSTROM: Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. Its almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all of over again.
Restart it all over again?
In plain, non-RINO English that means as soon as the primary is over, Romney is going to move far to the left. We will see the real Romney. We will see the Romney Massachusetts saw and did not like for four years. We are going to see what we will really be getting with the Massachusetts liberal.
Guess what?
We are not going to like it.
This is going to be 2008 all over again, except this time it will be worse. Romney has ignored the conservative base and has made it a point of trying to win without the base. He has done this because he had a huge money advantage. He has outspent opponents anywhere from 5-1 to 21-1 in the Illinois primary.
Romney advisors have already said, despite Romneys promise, he is not going to repeal Obamacare. Now we have someone in the Romney campaign basically saying he will move to the left as soon as he is absolutely certain he has the nomination.
It is not too late to stop Romney and this is what we must do.
We must support both Gingrich and Santorum. Neither can win at this point but they can still stop Romney.
While I do not speak for the Tea Party, I think I have a pretty good understanding of this movement and I believe this movement does not support Mitt Romney.
Romney is not an anti-American Marxist like Obama but beyond that there is little difference. If elected he will govern from the left and destroy not only the Republican Party but also the conservative movement.
This is why we must act to try and stop him at the convention while we still can.
Guess that wasn’t the title, huh?
Good. I hope some of us still have some sense. I really appreciated the post yesterday from Mr. Robinson on the Romney issue.
Sadly,so did Osama Obama. And Bill Ayers.
I’ll stand and fall with Dick Cheney.
Do you have the link to the post?
The Washington Times has been pimping Romney hardcore for a long time. Several of their extremely creative hit pieces on Gingrich and Santorum have been posted here. My opinion is that the Republican party has power and influence over outlets like FOX News, the Washington Times, and some of the RINO radio hosts and is wielding it. Hence why they’re usually anti-Democrat outlets and are now pro-RINO Romney outlets, such that you have Hugh Hewitt begging his listeners to donate money to Romney on his radio show this week. The MOST powerful people on FOX like the big 3, O’Reilly, Hannity and Greta haven’t towed the Romney line that much throughout the primary. But the ones who are expendable have been doing what their bosses wanted for a long time.
Let the RINO Establishment donate money -- he's their guy, not ours.
What we are really seeing are two factions of the same political class fighting over power and money. There is no real apparent interest in the ideals this Republic was founded upon. A pox on them all.
His only hope is to publicly, openly and forcefully, go after the massive multitude layers of fraud and criminal malfeasance that is the life of Hussein Obama, and the monstrous, racist criminal thugs in his barbaric regime of hate.
If he doesn’t do that, and do that now, Mitt Romney is 100% FAIL.
Do it NOW or STEP ASIDE, MR.
The only Constitutional conservative was Newt. Chance very small now and looks like we will have to settle for Romney. Newt took a real beating from Romney’s money and Santorum wasn’t much help. The GOP did not help Newt and the Tea Party was asleep. It should be evident that the downfall of Newt was because the entire communists empire and the Republicans feared the changes Newt would make.
And nobody cared because Romney promised that he is severely conservative.
He's a much better liar than he is a conservative.
The population for the most part has been dumbed down to the point of thinking that "mini0bama" is actually the "anti0boma".
FROM THE ARTICLE:
“...We must support both Gingrich and Santorum. Neither can win at this point but they can still stop Romney.... This is why we must act to try and stop him at the convention while we still can.”
I guess the other SoCon Pubbies, such as Tony Perkins (aka Dr. Dobson) and Gary Bauer, disagree with you.
There hasn’t been a SINGLE poll of the primary race between Gingrich and Romney since Santorum dropped out, complete total media blackout.
They want to pretend the race is over and hope everyone goes along with it. They KNOW that Gingrich was going to pick up most all of Santorums support and they don’t want to give him one last chance to resurge, so they are just ignoring the race and hope everyone forgets.
Gingrich stands to win most of the contests in May and June, it’s so frustrating that the media is pretending this is over.
Sorry Mitt, try again when you aren’t a worthless piece of crap. LOL
I don’t like Newt at all and would still vote for him in a hot second over the steaming pile of Mitt.
I think that accurately sums up Romney. No ideology to speak of, just "pragmatic."
Ann Coulter thinks that RubaDub is conservative /smirk
Compared to Mr 0b0tt0's UNLIMITED 24/7 total ENEMEDIA support, what chance does Mr Pale 0b0tt0 stand?
