Yeah, it is a tighter statute than I am used to. Which is a good thing.

“In reality, He is a socialist democrat after all.”

Cold-Cut Case? Wisconsin Democrats Accuse Romney of ‘Subs for Votes’

PEWAUKEE, Wis. – When GOP front-runner Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., gathered at a sandwich shop in Waukesha today to drum up support for Romney in the Badger State primary, they might have been engaging in “subs-for-votes” election bribery, according to the state’s Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin issued a complaint of bribery hours after the event, holding a news conference in downtown Milwaukee to air its grievances.

“It is a clear violation of Wisconsin election law, cut and dry,” the Democrat Party’s representative in Wisconsin told ABC News.

The group is filing its complaint with the state Government Accountability Board, which oversees the elections and will handle the complaint going forward.

Look at part (2) in the summary of the law above. Just giving the sandwich to vote is wrong; it doesn’t have to be, or believed to be, in exchange for a vote for a particular person (that’s part (3)).

So if you give nursing home residents a free ride to the poll, you would be breaking the law? The ride is something of value.

I really have to laugh thinking about Republicans giving free sandwiches is buying a vote. My bigoted view of Democrats busing in impoverished illegals and giving them free food is comparable to this story? The lily white blond middle-class woman featured in the video just does not fit the image I have of the voter fraud template of Democrats buying votes, busing left-wing students across state lines, and raising the dead.

Oh the hysteria, the hysteria.

It is illegal to distribute anything worth more than $1 “in order to induce any elector to go to or refrain from going to the polls,” according to the Wisconsin state statute. The subs Romney and Ryan were handing out today, if bought individually from the store, cost more than $1. Sandwiches at Cousins range in price from $4.49 to $5.59.

I’d like to see Mitt’s butt handed to him on a platter for $1.

“I really have to laugh thinking about Republicans giving free sandwiches is buying a vote.”

Poll workers in parts of Wisconsin were urged this year not to accept donuts from candidates, according to the Appleton Post-Crescent, which also reported that the Obama campaign in 2008 could not provide box lunches to election workers in Milwaukee.

“the distribution of goods on election day is illegal”

“I’d like to see Mitt’s butt handed to him on a platter for $1.”

I can’t decide if such an offering would be priceless or worthless.

In the states I am familiar with the giveaway has to be linked with electioneering for a particular candidate or party in proximity to the polls, or the specific agreement to exchange the thing for a vote.

In California, we used to get a free cup of coffee at Sambo's, or any of several other restaurants, if we showed the waitress our ballot stub, indicating that we had voted.

Around the mid to late 70s, even that was outlawed completely.

Since we moved out of the state in 1984, can't say if it's still that way or not...but it is here in SD.

Didn’t they outlaw “Sambos” too? They had to change their name, as I remember.

Myth Romney has a “pass” for now from the MSM
to lie and cheat whenever he wants.

Which is always.

LOL The Left should know. It’s on their voter registration. Can you bribe, cheat, lie and steal and be dishonest throughout the process of anything against your country.

Mitt bribing people with sandwiches to go vote for him. Incredible. HOW could Ryan join him in a such cheap scam? For shame!

And yet the Dims will juice up and bus winos to voting polls. Gives me mixed feelings that a "Repub" would do it during the primaries, but also think we should match Dim dirty tricks step-for-step in Nov. and insist they get the same scrutiny as we do. Else, we'll lose for sure, no matter who we prop up on stage.

“Romney is not someone I would ever want to work for or associate with in any way.”

From all the anti-Romney sentiments expressed on FR that many of us are going to either (1) vote for Obama, or (2) not vote at all.
Romney has a lot of negatives, but I doubt that he would rule by executive order with a stated intent of transforming America into a socialist dictatorship.

Why not come and visit us in the People’s Republic of Massachuetts. Don’t forget to leave your pepper spray, stun guns, swiss army knives and shhhhhh! pistols at home.

And whatever you do. don’t bring your children. Good ole Maggot Mitt has opened the door for the sodomites.

Oh ya, I forgot. he thinks it’s okay for girls under the age of 16 to have abortions without the knowledge and consent of their parents.

Hell, he and his sweet wife are up to their eyeballs in the blood of the innocent, You know, the most defenseless of God’s creatures! !

Shhh! Don’t tell anyone that their legacy here in the people’s republic is of death and destruction!

SHHHH! don’t tell anyone! They may think you are talking about Obama. shhhhh!.......

Hmmmm! sounds an awful lot like a Socialist Dictatorship to me!
Do you really believe that a leopard can change it’s spots?

JUST DREAMIN OF THE SHIRE!!! ALMOST THERE! ALMOST THERE!
“LIVE FREE OR DIE COUNTRY.” Although I would prefer Texas!

Watch the video:

I know.. It was like a SNL skit.I’ve lost all respect for Paul Ryan now and he’s my Congressman.

Marguerite, I don’t want to receive posts about Newt anymore.
He is a non factor in the process now.
