Sounds like a lot, doesn’t it?
It’s less than a day’s new debt with this Administration.
We have a really big national debt.
It’s one of the fringe benefits of working for the federal government. You get a discount on your taxes.
Sounds like membership has its privileges.
My BP just pinned reading that crap! They don’t pay and we dutifully do pay ours? Why am I not surprised, except at how much it amounts to?
Fire them and garnish their retirement. These “public servants” should be in jail. What a bunch of shiftless, loser parasites.

I believe the IRS just needs to take the money owed from the employees by Garnishment, instead of depending on them to pay it back. I would start at some of the smaller departments then work my way up.
Isn’t it fitting that the GSA employees owe over a couple million dollars.
American workers owe 114 Billion in unpaid taxes. Just doing their part in starving the beast.
It can take years before a court unravels who should be doing what to who before IRS can finally figure out if they were really owed something, or that somebody else owed them something but they were looking at the wrong guy, or gal, whatever the case may be.
If you'd prohibit federal employees from divorcing this would probably go away!
Did you think they were nice people?
hahahahah~
IRS has a division near Cincinnati that makes deals with taxpayers for timed payment. Much of what you see "owed" is actually already subject to a collection agreement.
I used to work for a local utility company. Not paying your gas or electric bill was grounds for termination.

I’d sooner prohibit federal employees from procreating. Harmful bacteria and virus’ should be isolated(done)and eradicated.
The point is they should have to pay their taxes just like
non government employees are supposed to I do not care if they owe $1.00 pay the ******* money
I take it you prefer debt to divorce?
Under U.S. federal tax law, a garnishment by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is a form of administrative levy. In the case of an IRS levy, no court order is required; Or IRC more formally, the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
Only a few requirements must be met before the IRS starts a wage garnishment: The IRS must have assessed the tax and must have sent a written Notice and Demand for Payment;
The taxpayer must have neglected or refused to pay the tax within the time prescribed in the notice; and, The IRS must have sent a Final Notice of Intent to Levy and Notice of Your Right to A Hearing (levy notice) at least 30 days before the levy. The taxpayer does not need to actually receive the notice for the notice to be effective. Many taxpayers never actually receive the final notice. Those taxpayers may not realize they are in danger of receiving a levy until their wages are actually garnished. The infernal Revenue Service needs to do its JOB!
