What is treason in my mind is to support a man who based on his record will not stop Obamacare. This alone means that every person in the United States will be sending tax dollars to help pay for abortions. Well to me that's murder plain and simple. Given the tide the news is taking the libs are gearing up for another gun control push in the near future. Could it be treason to vote for a candidate that has been for gun control.
We have to stick to our principals, basic American principals like freedom and liberty. It's our constitutional principals that make America different.
Here's a couple great quotes from a Congressman who had to make a choice between serving his party and sticking to his principals. Wise words to us today:
“I am sorry to say I do doubt the honesty of many men that are called good at home, that have given themselves up to serve a party. I am no man's man. I bark at no man's bid. I will never come and go, and fetch and carry, at the whistle of the great man in the white house, no matter who he is. And if this petty, un-patriotic scuffling for men, and forgetting principles, goes on, it will be the overthrow of this one happy nation, and the blood and toil of our ancestors will have been expended in vain.”
“I would rather be beaten and be a man than to be elected and be a little puppy dog. I have always supported measures and principles and not men. I have acted fearless[ly] and independent and I never will regret my course. I would rather be politically buried than to be hypocritically immortalized.”
“I am at liberty to vote as my conscience and judgement dictates to be right, without the yoke of any party on me... Look at my arms, you will find no party hand-cuff on them!”
Davy Crockett held to his principles. Will we today?
Once Rick Perry (and Gov Palin before him) was slammed and denegrated on FR, I could see quite clearly that principles meant nothing. So the answer to your question is no.
As another FReeper says in his tagline: ‘Our founding fathers would have been shooting by now’ (not a quote but close enough).
NOT VOTING IS NOT AN OPTION.
