If Obama wins in November, he should thank Rick Santorum

If and when Barack Obama wins another four years in the White House, one of the first people he should invite over is Rick Santorum.
That's because when the scholars chronicle the history of his 2012 race, it will be Mr. Santorum who will get credit for handing the victory to the Democrats. And if you don't believe it, just ask Mitt Romney.
Without his buddy Santorum in the contest, Mr. Romney could have taken a more moderate path to the nomination and would not have been dragged so far to the right in order to compete for the ultra-conservatives who didn't much cotton to Mr. Romney and were more comfy with the former Pennsylvania Senator.
The contrast between these two guys on the stump has also helped the president.
Mr. Santorum had a more down-to-earth style that his opponent desperately tried to immolate but just couldn't pull it off.

In spite of the headline, Santorum compares rather favorably with Romney in the article, at least from my point of view.

Romney’s getting killed vs Obama in the head to head. He’s down 8 in Ohio, down 5 in North Carolina, down 12 in Colorado.
This isn’t even going to be a close election.

obama ain’t winnin’....latest poll results....romney 45...sheriff arpaio 45...obama 10 to 20.

Nope. Won’t be close at all. And they haven’t even started beating on Romney yet.
I HOPE we can run the GOP elite out of town on a rail when this disaster is over.

If Gov. Romney had principles, he couldn’t be dragged anywhere.

Obama’s best asset is the GOP nomenklatura. Every withered or pork faced dead soul one of them.

Don’t you know - social conservatives can’t win!

Santorum always did better against Obama than Romney.
It was a clear difference that Mittens can’t provide. The fact that they had to change the delegate allocation rules after the vote was the only way they could give Romney a clear win.

Romneys getting killed vs Obama in the head to head.Rasmussen today has Romney up by two. Try to keep up there junior.

No,I can't accept that.If Osama Obama wins it will be because of the scorched earth campaign he waged with the billion dollars of AFSME/SEIU/AFL-CIO/Planned Barrenhood cash he got...as well as an October surprise or two...think "Treyvon II" or "Reichtag" and you'll know what I mean.Maybe even Iran.
Remember,Osama Obama learned at the knee of Bill Ayers himself...Santorum,Gingrich,Cain and Bachman didn't.

Santorum always polled better against Obama than Romney did because Santorum showed a clear difference.
Changing the delegate allocation rules after the vote to give Romney a win very likely cost Romney thousands of Michigan votes.

Silly me, but IF obama wins, he can thank the morons who voted for him, the people who claim revenge on the GOP because they didn't get the “perfect candidate” and of course the ubiquitous cheating that will inevitably happen.

You know that. I know that, but apparently the GOP hasn’t got the message yet.

Remember what Rummy said. You go to war with the army you have, not the one you wish you had.
In this case, we go after the Presidency with the candidate we have, no matter what.

Virtually everyone in the race was imperfect.
Romney is like a diaper they all wore till dropping out and he’s all that’s left. A steaming pile of oozing lose.

Didn’t they dump Rummy for Petraeus? Sounds like a plan to me.
