If you read the article HERE you find a lot of good information. Maps are displayed along with time lines that describe the encounter between Martin and Zimmerman. This is the most detailed account I have seen yet.
A week or two ago another thread asked why no footage had been shown with Trayvon getting his Skittles at the 7-Eleven. I speculated that they didn't want the public to know that this "poor little boy" was actually much bigger than Zimmerman, and no longer a little boy. But there may be another reason; he was never there.
According to the account Zimmerman first saw Martin near the clubhouse; to the west of the altercation and also to the west of where Martin was staying. Now that I had access to maps I did a search. As near as I can tell, the closest 7-Eleven is over 2 miles away - to the east. - 2700 West 25th Street, Sanford, FL.
The linked article also suggests that Martin doubled back specifically to confront Zimmerman. I continue to wonder if the reason Zimmerman thought he was acting suspiciously was because Martin was acting suspiciously. There are reports that women's jewelry and a flat screwdriver were found in Martin's backpack at school, but it was not acted on.
What if Trayvon was roving the neighborhood looking for "opportunity" and saw Zimmerman watching him? Do you suppose that maybe the Skittles toting the little boy who punched the bus driver may have wanted a piece of Zimmerman for trying to stop him?
‘Skittles’ and ‘tea’ have street drug identities. If someone is dealing these at a 7/11, would a buyer have to buy actual skittles and tea to get the ‘other’ products?
True, even though they describe themselves as Leftist Progressives, who's Editor-in-Chief is Joshua Vogel and they are against nearly everything FReepers stand for. Joshua Vogel: "I was in store full of 50+ people who didnt feel at all shy about expressing their distain for liberals and socialists. All of them, Im convinced, would have had no trouble gunning me down in an honest firefight." "I went into that store to buy a gun to protect my family in the event of a riot. I walked out feeling very nervous that if their actually was major social upheaval in the United States, a lot of angry conservatives would have no problem forming an organized militia, and they wouldnt have a whole lot of sympathy for the scores of unarmed socialist progressives out there." http://www.wagist.com/2011/joshua-vogel/progressives-it%E2%80%99s-time-to-go-buy-your-guns
OK, I learned something.

According to CNN: About 7:25 p.m.: Martin is shot and killed.

Where did I get the 3:00 AM thing from? Read it somewhere.
Other than the beating on Zimmerman part that was witnessed by others.
Are you really that behind the curve on this story?
I found another report that listed an accurate address for the site where Trayvon was shot. It gave 1231 Twin Trees Lane Sanford, FL as the address.

100 NORTH FRENCH AVE is the address of the nearest 7-11 that was listed by their corporate location finder.
Mapquest shows the distance as 5.63 miles.
The initial officer was dispatch address was 1111 Retreat View Circle which gives a distance of 5.15 miles.
Now, is the “7-11” another type of convenience store?
OK from another article I found that there was another 7-11 closer at 1125 Rinehart Road, Sanford, FL
The distance from the dispatched site at 1111 Retreat View Circle to 1125 Rinehart shows to be 0.78 miles
Round trip of about 1.5 miles. Much more credible.
My statement was with regard to his possibly being a trespasser. He was not and had every legal right to be where he was.
His “beating on Zimmerman” may or may not have been a crime. This is yet to be determined. It is possible, though not particularly likely IMO, that Zimmerman attacked Martin, who was merely defending himself.
The problem here is that the witnesses, for obvious reasons, looked out their windows only when the hollering started. The question of which party was the aggressor is determined by what happened in the seconds between when they confronted each other verbally and when the screaming started. And we have no evidence on that, and are unlikely to have any, except Z’s testimony, since Martin, the other witness, isn’t around anymore.
Did Trayvon commit a crime that night? Quite possibly he committed an assault, or aggravated assault, on George. It is also possible he was defending himself against attack. There is no law that the person defending himself is required to be on the bottom.
Not much of a wall. 3.5 to 4 foot brick.
Or you can walk around the end of the wall.
Or drive through or walk thru the gate by waiting for someone with access to go thru first.
Not what you'd call particularly secure.
At lots of these "gated communities" in FL the gates are left open much or all of the time.
There’s an open trellis at left, located on this guys site. http://www.logarchism.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Neighborhood%20Start.png
OK, that makes sense.
It is hard to research remotely. Locals always get it.
Yup. Found that out for myself. You can “walk” the perimeter on Street View and see it for yourself.
People hear “gated community” and envision million-dollar plus single family homes with big yards.
The homes for sale in this community are 1200 to 1600 SF townhomes in the $90k to $125k range. Or were before all this broke. Suspect value, or at least liquidity, just went down.
Not exactly the upper crust.
I suspect that side is the entry point for Martin. And that is where Zimmerman first spotted him.
">
Can’t really tell from Street View at this location, but at a lot of the gated communities the gate only keeps out cars. Bicycles or pedestrians just walk around it.
More importantly, Trayvon was not trespassing. If he had to take an unorthodox route to get in and out of the community, shame on us for making it difficult to walk somewhere instead of drive.
Back when all this started I suggested Z’s suspicion of M was partially based on his being on foot rather than in a car. Got chewed pretty thoroughly for doing so.
I still think a lot of Americans think being on foot is in and of itself suspicious. As someone who prefers to walk or bike whenever possible, I guess I’m a suspicious character. Lots of the comments on this thread are along the lines of “what was he doing out walking around?”
Hey, I like to walk. I even like to walk in the rain. Last time I checked it wasn’t illegal.
Any one taking bets of those items showing up in any 'crime scene' photos?
No, I understand. Both are shady characters. I have my doubts and have made them public, many things don’t make sense.
Did you notice how similar Zimmerman and the sheriff’s deputy/bailiff look in the photo in the attached article?
I had also heard a commentator on the radio say that Zimmerman had observed Martin walking close to the buildings. She speculated that he may have been trying to avoid the rain.
(smile)
Someone told me she was out walking home from work one evening (car either gone or in the shop) and male motorists assumed because she was on foot, she was therefore "working" and they were soliciting her. Outrageous, but true.
