I have to admit that I agreed with some of what Rosen said concerning Anne Romney.

I was a homemaker for many years before entering the work force...and I can attest to the fact very little of homemaking prepared me for the world outside my home....though I had volunteered in various organizations, and did fund-raising etc. And also participated in my husbands business... It is a another beast altogether to adjust simply punching a time clock! Getting “permission to take a bathroom break”...Let alone work for someone else which your income and such is dependent on your performance.

I don't believe that Mrs. Romney has a clue to the emotional and mental impact a woman has when she alone, or with her husband, has to do to make life work at home AND in the workplace. Not even remotely.

She speaks of how difficult work raising a family is....well most woman do that ‘in addition’ to working a 40 hr. week. They do not have the “leisure” of working their own schedule, but are fixed on times and places in order to juggle the work load of both home and Work.

So no...I don't think Anne Romney does understand the plight of many woman....she was and is, as I later saw myself,...”protected and sheltered” from having to deal with
the realities of “provision” and making ends meet along with raising a family. Further it's much doubtful Anne has ever known basic needs going unmet....so her world is vastly different then most. She and Romney are of the elite...and that's a far cry from the average working class man or woman.

I find your post despicable. I don’t care how much money her husband has or how liberal you claim she is. She stayed home and raised five children, has dealt with cancer and has MS. Let me know when you do the same.

Some of you people really make me think some conservatives are as bad, if not worse, than some liberals. I guess you’re just mad she was smart enough to pick a spouse who could support them so she could stay home and raise the children they decided to have.

So, according to you, being a cancer survivor and having multiple sclorsis; raising a large family and being the wife of a fulltime somewhat successful politician does not give her license to understand the emotional and mental impact a woman endures while working? Really? Just because she never needed permission to go to the bathroom? Really?

Well it didn’t take long for you to get slammed for saying you agreed with some of what Rosen said. Guess what, I agreed with some of it too. Not the part about Ann never working a day in her life, but about Ann not knowing how difficult it can be to be working, raising a family and just because the illness issue has been throw into the mix, also dealing with illness of self or other loved ones. The comment from Rosen was wrong, but to pretend Ann is just like everyone other mom is a bit much. The GOP and many, many others need to be careful they don’t over do this issue. Romney already comes across as very out of touch with the average American. It is a given that rich people have access to things that make their life easier that we average people don’t have access to. To pretend otherwise is absurd.

I found your post interesting as I had a totally opposite experience. I worked full time untill I was 38 when I became a mom to twin boys. My husband and I decided I would stay home to be a full time mom. I have never worked harder in my life. There were days I did not even get a shower, although I managed to brush my teeth and wash my face! There were no lunch breaks and basically I had to have my kids permission to use the bathroom. They are now 15 and I am still working hard. (Although daily showers are consistant nowadays.) I look back on the days when I was in the work force with much laughter as I thought the same as Rosen. I thought stay at home moms were ladies who lunch and did not do much. BTW, the war on stay at home moms is not “faux” and I am not a one percenter. I disagree strongly that I can not relate to women because I am a full time mom.

So, what do you think about what is being said about Michelle Obama, that she got a no-show job due to cronyism? And when you were a homemaker, did you not do any "work" at all, or contribute at all to your family's welfare?

Gee, you must have been one lazy-butt mom!!

Thanks for carrying the Rat meme on this. From this piece Rush read today, your guess about her having no idea about the real world is off base.

Rush reads 1994 Ann Romney interview which obliterates left’s “out of touch” narrative

Add a case of breast cancer and being diagnosed with MS to this and I wouldn't call this womans life easy street like you are positing.

Going after Milt on being a shifty RINO politician is one thing, but buying into the Lefts class warfare BS talking points to slam his wife is another.

Are you aware that the Romney’s never had any money until his work at Bain paid off? They weren’t always wealthy and had no help from their parents.
