Go ahead and explain to me how voting for Mitt is acceptable without abandoning everything you claim to believe in as a conservative.

Don’t duck it. Answer that one simple question.

With Romney we have a chance of saving this nation; with Obama our destruction is certain. I didn't create the choice that's before us, but it is the reality they we face. We aren't in this position because i abandoned my principles.

OK, you tell me, how does your opting not to vote (which will indeed benefit the Marxist, and the final destruction of our Free Republic) not abandon your beliefs and your love of this country? You see, it's all perspective. We both love the country, we're just a crossroads on this issue.

I'll try: Because Romney has to run to the right of 0bama, and that means he will be subject to influence from the right if he wants to win one term and even more so to have any hope at a second term. 0bama is entirely a creature of the Left and responds only to the leftist impulse. Moreover, if reelected, 0bama has absolutely nothing to lose. Expect an all-out leftist assault until his second term ends or he is (we would have to hope) completely neutered by the 2014 midterm. As between two admittedly bad options, I want the guy I might be able to influence nominating life-term Supreme Court justices and federal judges, as opposed to the dyed-in-the-wool leftist.

I totally agree with JR that working comprehensively on the lower levels is the key to getting back the party, but I also think there is value in doing everything possible to get the Court back solidly on an originalist footing. Think about the policy issues that make your blood really boil. There's probably an adverse, activist Supreme Court decision behind 90% of them.
