It doesn’t matter they still had the option which is my point.
MOST prosecutors present evidence for their highest charge but in closing will go over the options in for lesser verdict.
They do this as a compromise. I watched the trial the prosecutors did a good job, the jury did not.

The Prosecutor over reached for a reason:
1. she looks tough on this case.
2. she knows the evidence will not hold up.
3. it’s a win win for her, even if she loses she wins (blame the jury) she’s off the hook as well as Seminole County.
4. If she wins, well, there is a bright future for her in politics...... Zimmerman will win on appeal but ruin him financially.
This will act as a pressure relief valve slowly bleeding off pressure.
