Bloggers got in a fair amount of digs at Nokia for launching the Lumia 900 flagship phone on Easter Sunday, when vast majority of AT&T stores were closed. Fair enough the decision was odd.
But on Monday eve, the day after the Lumia 900 launch, the traction this phone has at Amazon.com is certainly better than anticipated.
Four points about Amazons Cell Phones with Service Plans sales chart.
Lumia 900 sales are split between two color variants right out of the gate. The black version is #1, the blue one #2. This is unusual phones tend to debut in one color and early ranking reflects all sales consolidated by one model. Having the top two spots held by one model is rare. Having them held by a Windows phone is in my recollection unprecedented. It clearly seems that AT&Ts price aggression combined with Amazons extra subsidy is paying off. Its not the Cell Phones with Service Plans chart that really matters. Its the Cell Phones and Accessories ranking that tells us something about the sales volumes. Thats because the second chart is dominated by dirt cheap accessories and cracking the Top 100 is very hard for any phone. We knew that the original Motorola Droid was a blockbuster when it hit the Top Thirty of the Cell Phones and Accessories chart in December 2009. That is a very high level for a smartphone in that chart it reflected volume sales close to 1 M units per month. Right now, Lumia 900 Black is #50 in the Phones and Accessories chart and Lumia 900 Cyan is #115. The best-selling non-Nokia model is Motorola RAZR MAXX at #245 a country mile behind the Lumias, implying there is a substantial volume gap between the phones.

Hopefully this bodes good news for Windows phone.
AT&T has NO unlimited data plan. You watch one movie...you've almost used up your monthly quota.
