Lot of "Me too" on both sides ~ if they really were different sides.

Nobody asked any questions about LOSS OF SENIORITY (In Senate).

The moderator more or less said "Ya'all talkin' outta the same sides o' yo' mouf'"

Whatever Mourdock said he would do Lugar would respond that he'd already voted for it ~ but showing a lack of sharpness due to age (I been telling you guys he's a drooler) he failed to follow that up with a dig at his opponent for NOT KNOWING WHAT GOES ON IN THE SENATE.

I found myself asking several times why Mourdock's out of state financial backers hadn't sent in somebody to brief him. Do they actually imagine that all you have to say is "I"m from TEA Party Woof Woof" and they'll get people to vote for their guy.

I hope not, but it helped to make Lugar seem better prepared ~ except when he came into the "I met so and so 1 to 10 days ago and he told me so and so' ~ which may or may not be meaningful.

Problem for any candidate facing Lugar is that he's done the foreign relations bit and he's doing the farming thing and he knows how those two fields connect ~ that resonates with the 30% of Indiana's economy involved in CORN AND CORN BYPRODUCTS AND EXPORTS!

Lugar is on the top of his game on that and even if Conservatives outside Indiana oppose turning corn into alcohol, the folks in Indiana firmly believe that's the only way to achieve satori in real time!

I gathered Mourdock agrees with Lugar's position on all of that, plus burning coal, drilling for gas, and drilling for oil.

So, just watching the debate it seemed to me that NONE of the major differences in the two candidates were raised. You TEA Party folks should take that up with the guys in Indiana. See what they think.

I think Mourdock's basic strategy was to seem respectful of Lugar for all his past service..he's trying to seem "nice".. he got in a few good points..and his closing statement was superb.

Lugar came across as old, tired, and slightly feeble...and I think that Mourdock knew that;s how it would seem. I think Mourdock won the debate hands down, and anyone who say it would think that it's time for Lugar to go sit on the porch somewheres..

Mourdock won this debate, and he will win the primary..
