Predictable responses to making a stand for conservatism, which I am immune to:

A.) “He’s the better of two evils”
B.) “But this is the most important election ever!”
C.) “You must be some sort of Troll!”

Yawn. We all have to draw a line somewhere, and being slightly to the right of a communist is too thin for this freeper. I won’t vote for a guy with a proven record of being pro abortion, gun-control, gay-rights, and big governement solutions, despite what he says now that he is asking for my vote. I’m done following the Orwellian Walking Pigs of the Republican establishment.

If that makes me a Troll, I’ll find a bridge.

I know this is a hard concept to understand, but I’ll try anyway. One of two people is going to be elected in November. It’s either going to be Obama, the single most radical leftist President we’ve ever had, or Mitt Romney, a moderate who’s changed positions a few times. Voting is not a difficult concept - you choose the candidate who best represents your views.

Apparently, however, lots of people here have stricter requirements for their Presidential candidates than they do for their spouses. This is why the concept of universal suffrage is a bad one - far and away, the individual voter is far too stupid to comprehend representative government.

This is one depressing thread. I thought most Freepers were Christians. We seem to have it backward, putting country before God. I don’t have to pray about whether to vote for Romney. I have to stand before God, my father. My father! I know how He feels about abortion. I cannot stand before God having voted for someone with the blood of abortion on his hands without thus having partaken with him. I fear God too much to do that. The thought of doing that makes me literally tremble. Then there is the sin of homosexual sex and Romney’s tacit approval of it by supporting gay marriage. If others don’t fear God enough and vote for a Romney, and there seems to be enough in this country, then we deserve the judgement handed to us via our government. We’ve become a post-Christian nation. Whatever befalls our nation, I know wherein lies my trust and who it is that takes care of me. I’ll stay under the shadow of God’s wings. For me, voting for Romney is akin to walking away from God. Newt may have some baggage, but so did King David. Newt has publicly expressed repentance. I believe if he is sincere, as he seems to be by his contriteness and testimony, that God has forgiven him just as He did King David.
