It is with no joy whatsoever that I say we’re stuck with Mitt Romney. Rick Santorum was our only real hope of stopping him but he didn’t have the resources to do so. Too bad, it was a good try.
Right now, Romney and the conservative grass roots are in a Mexican standoff. We can’t get rid of Obama without a Republican victory in November. Romney can’t be elected President without the conservative grass roots. Under no circumstances should we give Romney our unconditional support. I don’t like Mitt Romney. I refuse to support him in the Republican primary. But it’s possible that by being open to supporting him in the general election, we can shake down some conservative commitments. Frankly, that is our only chance at denying Obama four more years to destroy this country.
Obama will win. You can’t reason away facts.
Rush today and Levin tonight was on this topic. We are going to go nowhere in this standoff if Milt doesn’t make very heavy concessions to the Conservatives immediately. He bought his way to the top with an outrageous slash and burn campaign never seen before in a GOP Primary. There are a LOT of hurt feelings. That is why 60% of the vote has gone against him so far.
Milt and the GOPe have intentionally marginalized and ridiculed us as their campaign model. I don’t see how he brings the two parties together. He is an incompetent campaigner and has nothing to offer us.
Levin made the great point that if Milt is such a great leader, he should prove it by quickly rebuilding the Reagan coalition he so quickly destroyed this Primary.
Yep. And it ROYALLY sucks. But now people either deal with it or take 4 more years of Obama and then there will be nothing left to save IF there are elections in 2016.
Rick Perry ain't looking so bad now. Hell, Jeb Bush would be MUCH better than Mittens.
Personally, I'm absolved of staining my soul because I'm in the “Bluest” of “Blue” states and my vote, IF I were to vote “for” Mittens, would be wiped out by 3-4 Obama votes.
Like one of my old timer friends told me: “I'd vote for a f**kin’ dead housefly than Obama.” Vote or don't vote wisely. Agonizing over Mittens on FR will not be tolerated by JR, so folks need to do what they feel is right in their own silent place.
It’s the arrogance of Romney and the GOP-e. They think we’ll hold our noses and go along. They’ve even said so. We have only ourselves to blame. We’ve taught them over the course of decades that we do that.
