Sounds like what happened to Joe Foss in Oct ‘01 trying to fly out of Phoenix, on his way to give a speech at West Point.
I’m certain that if the guys (pre-TSA) giving him a ration of manure had known that he was awarded said medal for < gasp> shooting down airplanes < /gasp> they would have filled their pants.
If someone would only have given the loud command “MOH ON DECK!” All vets/Real LEOs in the surrounding are would have snappedd to attention and come to present arms.
That would have caused TSA agents to have to go change their Depends.
