I agree. Looks like ferry transports and unless they are specially assigned to the U.S. Navy it seems that bad security is still being practiced by the U.S. Navy.

Third possibility. Looking at their size vs the ship? An optical illusion. The boats may be are about three quarters distance from ship to shore and not actually at the ship. The size of the boats that close to the ship puts their mast at flightdeck level or 60 ft off the water. I don't think they are at the ship.

A boat that size can not fit close enough to the carrier too on or off load is what I'm saying. The flightdeck overhangs out way too far too allow it. Also the hull extends outward the further up you go. An optical illusion kinda like the F-14 fly-by picture off the America.

I've spent a lot of time on those boats tied off on a utility boat at a boat boon. The boats are not at the ship. No way.
