"We are absolutely committed to defeating Barack Obama," he said. "I will work as hard for (Romney) as I would for myself."

A true statesman to be able to put everything behind him after a brutal primary. This must be our attitude as well, unless you willfully desire to see the destruction of our nation as we know it.

“I’m glad I did this,” Gingrich said of his decision to run, calling it “the right thing for me to do.”

Gingrich spoke openly about his campaign’s money troubles. He said the campaign has had to dip into personal funds — “a little bit, but not dramatically” — and that the campaign is “slightly less” than $4.5 million in debt.

“We owe much more than we wanted to,” Gingrich said. He explained that the Florida primary in late January
Gingrich lost that race, and so far has won just two primary contests — in South Carolina and Georgia.

Gingrich said his campaign won’t “go broke” and that he’ll raise money after the election in order to pay off his debt.

Now that he has succeeded in dividing the conservative vote, his job is done.

Very hard to find enough $10, $25 and $100 contributors to make up for the loss of one billionaire casino owning sugar daddy. That’s not a slam on Newt, that’s just fact.

He is 4.5 million is debt. Why doesn’t he just get out of the race? He isn’t going to win anything.

Must be an attention thing.

Romney is not my first choice or even my second choice, but I have to agree with Newt that we must defeat President Obama in the fall. If we find that Romney’s policies are not conservative enough for us, we need to work hard to oppose them; but for now, I think we are stuck with Romney. Bill Ayers gets up every morning and thinks that this may be the last day we have capitalism. We should get up every morning and think what can we do to make sure our children grow up in a free society. Bill Ayers works each day to make his vision of America come true. If we don’t do the same, Bill Ayers will win. There is no end to this fight.

There will be a nice raise in his speaking and public appearance fees, a new book or two, maybe one for Callista too, and many offers for consulting services. Not to mention the opportunity to sit back and say “I told you so” for the next however many years... All good for Newt.

The fact that Republican primary voters couldn't see that Newt was the one guy who would get this country back on track doesn't give me much hope for the future. Business as usual it will be.

“Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.” ~ Ronald Reagan, from his first inaugural speech as governor of California, January 5, 1967

Ronald Reagan’s warning about losing our freedoms echoes down through a generation of lost momentum and squandered opportunity.

We now have the most ignorant electorate in the history of American elections. I believe we have the most corrupt government and media our country has ever seen.

I believe that Newt was the one leader that could have turned our country away from the abyss, intelligently and quickly.

It is abundantly clear that not enough folks shared my beliefs.... and far too many lacked the courage to forgive and look beyond the sins in a mans past and into the promise of a brighter future. That is certainly a free choice and a personal choice.... and as it is with all choices, there will be consequences.

In any case, Americans will get the country it apparently wants and a country it so richly deserves. We will not have lost our country because it was taken from us, we will have lost her because we simply gave it all away.

A storm is coming.... hide or learn to dance in the rain.

I would have voted for Newt.

I hate to think that obama is a better liberal than Romney, but I'd much rather have obama appear to be in power when the economic sheet hits the fan.

He and the demonrats and rinos have given us this mess and I want them to get the full blame.

I would think that would be the case by now, but I've learned how easy it is to underestimate voter stupidity and the power of demonrat propaganda when it's mainlined into to the general consciousness by the state run media.

But Newt! People who think the election is all about THEM aren’t going to vote!

Just like every election.

Never mind.
