One of those homeowners violated a cardinal rule of self-defense and fired his shotgun at the fleeing felon after the threat had ended, but no charges against him have been announced. Wait about eight months, this guy will be quietly arrested and prosecuted after community support dies down.

How would a police officer be treated under the circumstances? Shooting a fleeing felon in the back is SOP. I’d judge the homeowner by the same standard as is applied to officers.
